A rocky start to our “Ride2Rugby” 2025 - Sponsored by Philtronics Ltd 55 riders headed to Bristol airport on a donated coach by the amazing South Wales Transport Ltd Big delays due to storm meant a 8 hour delay, only to find out at 7.45pm that our flight is cancelled! We’ve quickly been supported once again by South Wales Transport and their MD David Fowles - we reroute for a bus to London, to get the 6am Eurotunnel direct to Rotterdam, where we will be met with our kit and bikes 🚲 A shorter day 1 than we had hoped but after broken sleep on floors and transport a safe call to make! Positive thoughts! We are still on course, all riders safe and we look forward to the next challenge ahead! Big shift from the Team here to keep us moving! Wellbeing Week! As CEO of Philtronics, I firmly believe in leading by example, especially when it comes to health and wellbeing. Here’s how I integrate some practices into my routine to keep both mind and body in good condition: Road Biking:  There's nothing quite like the freedom of the open road on a bike, especially when shared with friends. Cycling isn't just a physical exercise; it's a social one too. The camaraderie of the group ride, the shared challenges, and the laughter along the way enrich the experience. Social contact during these rides is vital for mental health, fostering a sense of community and belonging. I often enter charity rides that give me a goal. My next ride is Janaury 27th. I ride from Amsterdam to Paris, with a wonderful group of riders from Ospreys in the Community. you can donate here : https://lnkd.in/eGkxBdUA Sauna Sessions: Post-ride, I often take time for a sauna. It's an excellent way to relax, detoxify, and recover. The heat helps in soothing muscles, reducing stress, and enhancing overall wellbeing. It's like hitting a reset button for both body and mind. Ice Baths: To balance the heat of the sauna, I use ice baths for recovery. It might sound daunting, but the benefits are profound. Ice baths reduce inflammation, speed up muscle recovery, and fortify mental resilience. It’s a test of endurance that leaves me feeling invigorated and ready for new challenges. Quality Sleep: I've learned that sleep is the unsung hero of wellbeing. Aiming for 7-8 hours of quality sleep each night is non-negotiable for me. It's during sleep that our bodies repair, our brains consolidate memories, and we recharge for the next day's challenges. Good sleep is the foundation of good health. Hydration: Staying hydrated is crucial, especially with the physical demands of biking, sauna, and ice baths. I make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day, sometimes adding a pinch of electrolytes for balance after intense sessions. Proper hydration supports every function of the body, from digestion to cognitive performance. At Philtronics, we understand that a healthy team is a productive team. Last month marked the end of our unforgettable 400-mile ride for Velindre Cancer Centre’s Key West Bike Ride. It was a bittersweet farewell, but we were surrounded by truly inspiring people, all united in support of Velindre. As we gear up for the holiday season, we can't help but reflect on the incredible lessons these rides have taught us. Lessons of: Teamwork Generosity Hope Selflessness And if this year of charity bikes rides couldn’t get any better, we’re very happy to announce in 2025 we’ll be joining Ospreys in the Community on their annual Ride 2 Rugby from Amsterdam to Paris!
