We are excited to be working with West Dunbartonshire Council on Mitchell Way Public Realm with LDA Design Civic Engineers, PMP and Sculpture House. The project originates from the Council’s Alexandria Masterplan, which was developed in partnership with the community through consultation and it has been a long standing ambition to improve and revitalise this important thoroughfare. As part of our multifaceted programme of engagement through the project, we are going to be running a public engagement day on the 5th April at the Alexandria Market with a wide range of family friendly activities for all ages, so everyone can get involved. Please come along to share your thoughts and ideas on how we could improve Mitchell Way! Please help share the survey and find out more at the following link: https://lnkd.in/eW8ZCAdc Eilidh Henderson Eva Voulgaridou David Wyllie Craig McCracken

Arch 12 was a project with New Gorbals Housing Association to create a new pedestrian walkway between two communities. The arches project is the first phase of several public realm improvements planned for the area. The arch sits on the point where two railway lines above converge, this results in an offsetting of the structure of the arches which creates some interesting geometries. In terms of generating the form for the walkway, the arch itself was rich with inspiration – history, geometry, brick detailing, as well as the methods of how these structures were originally constructed. Page\Park also worked early in the process with the artist Rachel Duckhouse, having early conversations on perspective, geometry, and overlapping lines. The result is a series of fins that sweep through the arch and smooth out the route through. The form of these fins is generated by a combination of sightlines and taking the plan and section requirements at each position in the arch, and also taking a clue from the profile of the offset arches and the overlapping of these shapes. Our colleague Jonathan Walsh attended the launch event for the UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standard organised by UK NZC Buildings Standard and The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland to learn more details about the new standard. It was great to hear from the speakers about the science lead approach toward a single definition for net zero carbon, the industry has been calling for. Thanks to the speakers: Ángel Morales-Aguilar David Partridge Ingrid Berkeley Aythan Lewes

We’re excited to announce that we have been appointed to work on the redevelopment of Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life. Following the site-wide masterplan we completed in 2022 for the Museum and North Lanarkshire Council, we are now helping to develop the Summerlee: New Stories, New Audiences, Better Lives project further, supported by Harley Haddow, Cundall and NBM CONSTRUCTION COST CONSULTANTS LIMITED. The significance of the Museum is tremendous, both culturally and historically—not only for Coatbridge and Lanarkshire, but for Scotland as a whole. The Museum shares the story of Scottish industrial life and, critically, the impact of deindustrialisation on local communities. This project will look into substantially expanding the Museum's scope and focus, with a new emphasis on social history, covering the period up to the closure of Ravenscraig in the early 1990s—an era that is currently underrepresented in its collections and exhibitions. Some of the key initiatives will include: - The expansion of the much-loved miners' village alongside the development of a welfare community hall, - The establishment of new creative spaces including galleries and learning facilities, and - The development of an expanded learning landscape with interactive site interpretation to enhance engagement with the Museum's natural surroundings We’re thrilled to bring this project to life! Stay tuned for more updates! 🔥 #Summerlee #NewStoriesNewAudiences #BetterLives #Heritage #IndustrialHistory #CommunityImpact Eilidh Henderson Eva Voulgaridou

We're now eight months into the construction of forty-two new affordable homes for Tollcross Housing Association, at Altyre Street in Glasgow. The street was a long-term gap site, and as the build progresses its urban edges are becoming clearer again, creating clear blocks with defined fronts, backs, and private and shared spaces. The scheme is being delivered by McTaggart Construction, with a design team which includes Fairhurst Engineering, RaeburnFarquharBowen Landscape Architecture & Urban Design, and Reid Associates Quantity Surveyors. Our Associate Suzy O' Leary was delighted to be part of a panel discussion last week as part of the Edinburgh Printmakers Then & Now project. This is a heritage project aimed at researching, celebrating and sharing the cultural, built, social and intangible heritage connected to the Castle Mills building, Edinburgh Printmakers and broader Fountainbridge area. It was lovely to re-visit our work at CastleMills almost six years after completion alongside the brilliant artists Rachel Duckhouse, Mark Doyle and Peter Smith reflecting on how art and architecture speak to our built heritage. We are delighted to see the works to St. Peter’s Church & Presbytery now well underway, securing the buildings’ future for its growing parish. Page\Park is working with JOHN FULTON (PLUMBERS) LIMITED on a contract to conduct extensive fabric conservation and improvements to this category B-listed building. Built in 1903-4 to designs by architect Peter Paul Pugin, the church complex has retained its Scottish Aberfoyle green slate. Much of which is now reaching the end of its life. With the Aberfoyle quarry no longer harvestable, the main roof will receive new SIGA 150 Vermont green slate in random diminishing courses, sourced from across the pond in USA by AccuRoof. Seemingly an unusual choice for sourcing a faithful replacement slate, North America was once geologically connected with Scotland. The sample slate was assessed to be suitable with its similar quality and hue to the original Aberfoyle slates. Existing Aberfoyle slates with good life left in them, are being re-used on the adjoining presbytery. The original decorative cast iron rainwater goods have been fully refurbished, and re-installed with minor alterations to enable the new roofs to better cope with the increased rainfall we now receive. The church’s Dumfriesshire red sandstone has suffered accelerated degradation due to cement repairs from the 1980s compounded by a widespread overlay of ‘Linostone’ decorative coating, applied in an effort to enhance the look of the stone. These are being removed by the masonry subcontractor, CBC (Glasgow) Ltd to prevent further deterioration, with further limited redressing and indented stone where existing stones are unable to be preserved. Working with AWM Glass Designers Limited, we are overseeing the full refurbishment of the leaded lights, with the first batch ready to be installed in the coming weeks. Once complete, the exquisite stained glass is to be cleaned in-situ. We look forward to sharing more of what is to come. Craig McCracken
