  • Another fantastic group of young people embarking on careers in the rail industry. Super proud of how well they all did on the QTS Rail Skills Academy programme and how they took the event and interviews in their stride today. Sometimes people just need an opportunity and someone to believe in them! Morgan Middlemiss

Congratulations to Richard Ewing who passed his IRATA Rope Access course last week with QTS Training. Richard is one of the QTS Rail Skills Academy graduates from July 2023 and we are delighted to see him progress in his career as a Vegetation Operative with QTS Group. Richard spent two weeks undertaking his NPTC Chainsaw and IRATA Rope Access courses and passed both with flying colours! Richard said "I really enjoyed the QTS Rail Skills Academy. I was looking for an opportunity to have a career rather than just short term jobs which were not fulfilling. While I was on the Rail Skills Academy I did work experience with the QTS Vegetation team and that was my favourite part of the programme. I was so pleased when they offered me a job and am loving the work. I have now been put through my Chainsaw 5 day course and also the IRATA rope access 5 day course and am looking forward to continuing to develop in my career with QTS." Well done Richard!

There was no fire...but we were delighted to welcome some of the team from Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to carry out some rescue training at the QTS Training IRATA Rope Access and Working at Heights training centre earlier this month. We are always interested in collaborative working and partnering with other organisations where we can, and were really pleased to be able to share our bespoke rope access training facilities with an organisation that carries out such amazing work.
