  • Driving Sustainability ♻️ This week, we hosted our third strategic supply chain sustainability conference, bringing together 16 key partners to explore the Circular Economy in action. The event featured three supplier stories showcasing real-life innovation, followed by an interactive workshop where teams identified Circular Economy opportunities on a historic bridge replacement project. Together, we’re making tangible progress on our journey because sustainability is a challenge we solve collaboratively. A huge thank you to our suppliers and partners for their insights and commitment and our hosts, Morson Talent #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #SupplyChain #Collaboration #SHEQ247

  • Helping handrails! 🙌 🙌 Blaendulais Primary School in Seven Sisters, Neath is proudly showing off its upgraded handrails after a helping hand 🤝 🤝 from our skilled volunteers. The refurbished safety rails have been hand-prepared ✍ stripped back, primed and hand painted 👈 by a local AmcoGiffen project team, along with colleagues from Network Rail and supply partner Centregreat Engineering – all hands on deck! 👐 👐 We’re currently working on a refurbishment scheme on the Ynysdawley viaduct nearby. We made the most of the project’s proximity to the school and put our handy 👏 skills to good use through our AmcoGiffen community impact volunteering hours. Every colleague is entitled to three working days, every year. Handy that! 🫶 🫶 #CommunityImpactDays #LeavingALegacy #StrongerTogether

  • Doorstep Date with STEM 🥾 🥾 We recently visited St Maurice’s High School to facilitate two bridge-building workshops with S2 students. While we were there, we provided insights into the different career paths within civil engineering, the rail and construction industry and the options they might need to choose. 👷♀️ 👷♂️ The school is just a stone’s throw away from our regional office and we loved sharing our passion and inspiring potential engineers. A huge thank you to the students for their enthusiasm and engagement; the future of engineering is bright! 😎 #STEM #InspiringEngineers #FindYourFuture

The ARQ team worked in partnership with Network Rail on the CP7 E&P Framework for Wales and Western to complete Headspan to Portal conversion project on structures at Southall, London through the busy Christmas period.   This is the first time this methodology has been used, with four structures converted, inclusive of a Mid Point Anchor, during the 52 hour possession.   These works will help to improve the resilience of the structures and reduce the potential for disruption to travelling passengers.

  • Our team in Wales is building new platforms for Cardiff Bay Railway Station and a new station at Bute Street on behalf of Transport for Wales. Some of our project team used their community impact days by volunteering at the Ethnic Youth Support Team (EYST) charity, which is right on the doorstop of the project location. Our volunteers used their construction skills by renovating flooring, fixing doors, removing railings and clearing the outdoor space. This small act of giving our time has had a big impact on the charity, which helps provide support for ethnic minority youths to reach their fullest potential. Every colleague at AmcoGiffen is entitled to three days for community impact. They can use their days their way on organised company activities, project-related social value opportunities or something meaningful and personal to them. How would you use your days? #CommunityImpact #LocalSupport #TeamAmcoGiffen
