Helping students at Kilsyth Academy Find their Future! 👷 🧑💻 👩🏭 We recently attended an S2/S3 careers inspiration event at Kilsyth Academy helping to inspire over 100 young people. 🦺 🚆 🛤️ During the day Site Engineer, Jamie Scott, Design Coordinator Stephen Doherty and Community Liaison Officer, Stella Chan talked about AmcoGiffen, their unique job roles, how they started their career, the skills they needed, and the meta-skills required. 🗣️ 🗣️ In the evening, we attended a careers fair at the academy for students and parents to meet with us and other local employers, helping to open doors for S5/S6 pupils preparing to leave school. 👨👩👦👦 👨👩👧 Thanks to our hosts at Kilsyth Academy and event organisers DYW LED #FindYourFuture #STEMCareers #TeamAmcoGiffen Photo 1: Stephen and Jamie presenting during the inspiration event in the day Photo 2: Logan Cameron and Stella manning the stand at the careers fair.

We took part in Greenfaulds High School’s careers event this week talking to S2 pupils about the wide range of careers and the skills required to be successful. The 220 students were arranged into small groups moving around and talking to representatives from different local employers including AmcoGiffen. They asked us about subject choices, career paths, opportunities and day-to-day responsibilities. The Developing the Young Workforce, Scotland event was well-organised and well-attended, and we’re glad we could lend our support. Special thanks to school captains, Jamie and Shavaan who looked after our representatives so well throughout the day. We reached a significant milestone this week as we removed the existing footbridge at Llanelli station, propelling the project into its final phase. This scheme forms part of Network Rail's commitment to improving station accessibility and we’re now preparing for the final stage, reinstating the canopy before handback and entry into service. Once complete, the Access for All scheme will ensure a fully accessible route between platforms 1 and 2, enhancing customer experience for all station users. Addressing mobility challenges and creating a step-free environment underscores Network Rail's dedication to delivering a railway that is accessible to everyone.
