Ragged Edge turned 17 this month. But that’s not why we’ve been celebrating. We’re thrilled to announce four promotions. Luke Woodhouse and Matt Smith have both been promoted to ECD. These two have been at the heart of every success we’ve had over the vast majority of those years. Together they’ve built and nurtured a truly world class creative team, and embody the absolute best of Ragged Edge. And Abi Nkrumah and Lauren Ball are now Senior Account Managers. Their promotions are recognition of the impact they’ve made on every project they’ve worked on, and on every client they’ve worked with. We’re so lucky to have them here.

This is a special award. The Wise rebrand is listed as one of Fast Company’s best branding projects of 2024. Recognition for a project that was delivered from button to billboard, across 175 countries and 17 million customers. All at once. And recognition for our ongoing collaboration with the Wise design team. A collaboration built on a shared mindset, boundless ambition and an unwavering commitment to the power of design. We made a multi-award-winning Omlet 🥚 The pet brand for thoughtful owners adds a Creative Review Awards Honourable Mention to its growing collection. Kudos to the Omlet Ltd team for having the conviction to do things differently.

More awards for Omlet and Wise. As the longest running award show in the world, Art Directors Club (ADC) Awards are worth winning. So we’re thrilled to pick up a Merit for both Omlet Ltd and Wise. Testament to two brave clients, and two incredible partnerships. Maybe we shouldn’t have waited 103 years to enter.

From well-known to well loved. With 96% awareness, Go.Compare's Gio was famous. But famously polarising. Testing revealed that turning him into an animated character kept that recognition. But transformed how people felt about him. Making the switch from live action to animation also allowed the brand to use Gio throughout every part of the customer experience. More scalable. More coherent. More distinctive. From an advertising mascot, to a true brand mascot.

A little commotion for the copy. While we see design blogs aplenty, we don’t see a lot of publications dedicated to brand writing. So when The Subtext popped up we were paying attention and, as it turns out, so were they. They sat down with our Copy Director Fia Townshend to lift the lid on our process, her approach, and the importance of our industry waking up to words. Five promotions to announce. Five exceptional talents to celebrate. Jessica Bong-Woon and Andrew Kitchener are both promoted to Associate Creative Director. Emma London is now a Senior Account Director. Venetia Thorneycroft becomes a Design Director. And Jorge Vega Curiel is promoted to a Midweight Designer. For anyone who’s worked with them, you’ll know how well deserved their promotions are. And how lucky we are as an agency to have them. We’ve always tried to put the people first, and so, while the work often gets the headlines, it’s this progress that’s the most rewarding.
