What should investors expect of portfolio companies when it comes to cybersecurity? Railpen follows the evidence that certain ESG factors, such as cybersecurity, affect the value of the companies we invest in. We believe that by understanding, monitoring and influencing the behaviour of those companies, we can help ensure our portfolios are resilient to material ESG risks and, as a result, protect and enhance the long-term value of members’ savings. Royal London Asset Managementbelieve that driving corporate change in areas such as cybersecurity requires a collaborative effort from asset managers, asset owners, regulators and policy makers. Cybersecurity Risk & Resilience: Guidance for Investors sees Railpen and Royal London Asset Management list their expectations of companies (as members of the cybersecurity coalition) to support investors with their thinking across this material issue. Here’s an insight into what we say against each of our four pillars: Pillar 1: Governance – robust board oversight is essential for implementing effective cybersecurity practices Pillar 2: Supply chain/M&A – comprehensive due diligence and proactive risk management of external parties are critical Pillar 3: Processes, culture & training – fostering a resilient culture is fundamental, supported by strong vulnerability management, testing and certifications Pillar 4: Collaboration – working with peers and government bodies is crucial to enhancing cybersecurity standards Discover more expectations, why they’re important and how to practically implement them. It’s been just over two months since The Glasshouse, our state-of-the-art innovation hub in partnership with Innovate Cambridge, opened its doors for the first time, representing a physical space that attracts a vibrant innovation and investment community to connect, meet, and build more successful businesses that benefit Cambridge, the UK, and the world. In its first 38 days, it has secured over 380 members, which is continuing to grow organically and consists of leaders from high-growth scaling innovation companies with a strong focus on life sciences and deep tech, as well as investors and partnership leaders and high profile and influential members from academia, local, and national government. It has hosted 12 large-scale events, facilitated 22 boardroom meetings with external guests, and has achieved over 900 visits from members and guests from across the world. The Glasshouse is a solid indicator of our commitment to investing in the city of Cambridge, and there are many events in the pipeline for this year set to take this to the next level in its high-calibre event schedule, such as hosting government roundtables, increasing investor visits, and bringing more sectors together. #TheGlasshouse #Railpen #InnovateCambridge #Innovation #Cambridge #Investment Aver Anna Rule Matthew Howard Richard van Lente Julia Diez Richard Moon

Sustainable financial markets, one of our four key themes, sees us working to support an environment and company structures that allow investors’ voices to be heard and enabling high-quality reporting to give us an accurate picture of a company’s financial health – think unequal voting rights and the quality of the audit. From how we ensure companies are held accountable for their governance practices and the role of voting to how we engage with policymakers through the Investor Coalition for Equal Votes (ICEV) – discover more in our video featuring Caroline Escott video at https://ow.ly/iH5O50U5eLy #ShareholderRights #CorporateGovernance #VotingRights #ResponsibleInvesting
