Helping refugees and asylum seekers rebuild their lives in Berkshire since 1994.
About us
Refugee Support Group helps refugees and asylum seekers to rebuild their lives in Berkshire. Started in 1994 by a group of refugees, we now provide services to hundreds of families and individuals across all of Berkshire. We support refugees from more than 50 countries who have escaped war, violence, persecution and modern slavery. Many have been victims of human trafficking. Some have been tortured. Some have No Recourse to Public Funds. We provide a safe space, OISC accredited advice, practical support and social activities. We run English classes and assist with accessing education, volunteering and employment. We empower our community to access their rights, signpost to specialised services, and campaign and raise awareness of issues refugees face.

On 3rd April stand in solidarity with refugees by lying down. Sign up and join our CEO, Nick Harborne, for a night under the stars at the Abbey Ruins. This outdoor event will raise awareness about the increasing crisis of homelessness among refugees. See sign-up link in comments or contact fundraising@rrsg.org.uk for more info. 💚

Over 600 people filled the Minster for our sell-out Christmas carol event. This remarkable turnout is testament to the extraordinary talent of @reading_community_gospel_choir. A massive thank you to the choir and to @purpleturtlereading and @beanoakdentist for their generous contributions to our tombola. We enjoyed two client Christmas parties.. Thank you so much to all the volunteers and organisations (Kryla Choir, Balamuty dance and Greyfriars Centre) who contributed to these amazing events. @enterprise , @readingfamilyaid and the RBC team for their generous gifts which our clients received with joy and gratitude. Ps.. We smashed the Big Give Christmas Challenge.. thank you! #gratitude #kindness #generosity

With #BlackFriday just around the corner, now’s a great time to join #EasyFundraising and make a difference for Refugee Support Group—at no cost to you! Every time you shop online for Christmas gifts or everyday essentials with over 8,000 retailers (like John Lewis, Amazon and M&S), a portion of your purchase gets donated directly to support our work. It’s an easy way to help refugees while doing your holiday shopping! And here’s some extra excitement: if you sign up before midnight on December 1, we’ll be entered into a giveaway where we could win a £500 bonus donation! Your support means the world—thank you! 💚 Sign up here: https://lnkd.in/dYt3muj
