Jess Reus and Rozie Fuller had a great afternoon meeting lots of inspiring people at yesterday’s #WomensSportCollective London networking event. 🤝☕️ Run by Fearless Women - these events are perfect for connecting with peers, sharing experiences and discussing the work we do to make women’s sport more relevant. It’s fantastic to see so many strong women in our industry striving towards the same goals to make sport a space where women can flourish. 💪 If you chatted to either of them at the event – or wish you had – be sure to connect and keep the conversation going. #womenssport #sportsmarketing #WomenInSport #SheMovesTheGame

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games announced their updated sports list this morning, but have they made the right choices? 🤔 With popular sports like rugby and cricket excluded, our Research & Strategy Director Chris Argyle-Robinson looks into the numbers. 📊 Check out the findings below. ⬇️ #Insights #SportsMarketing #Research
As the slimmed-down version of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games was announced this morning, I got the Redtorch Research and Performance Lab to crunch some numbers, focusing on the sports interests of UK 16–34-year-olds. We uncovered some intriguing statistics: Key insights: ⬆️ High Interest in axed sports: Rugby: 2,439,353 Cricket: 2,311,007 Badminton and Table Tennis: Over 1.6 million interested individuals each. ⬇️ Included sports with lower interest: Weightlifting: 1,345,340 Judo: 692,639 While I understand that venues, logistics, and athlete numbers make for complex decision-making, it's evident that some sports with significant interest among younger audiences have been left out...

Head of Communications & Women’s Sport Lead at Redtorch - multi award-winning sports marketing agency trusted by the biggest brands in the world of sport
“Women’s sport isn’t just having its moment, it’s a movement.” Feeling motivated and inspired after attending Leaders in Sport for the first time! 🙌 Speaking to a number of women this week, it clear that these events can feel daunting and a bit alien to many of us - me included! But initiatives like the #WomensSportColletive truly transform that feeling into an empowering, supportive experience - thank you Sue Anstiss MBE. 👏 I gathered some valuable insights from the sessions on offer, learning from industry icons such as Rory Sutherland, and trailblazing sports leaders like Nikki Doucet. Key takeaways 👇 🗣️ We need to change the language around women’s sports. The way we talk about it compared to men’s sport impacts perceived value. 📊 Beware of the averages. The second you average out data, you lose the standout insights. 🚫 Sponsorship 101: what brands hate about sports marketing… ‘the golden handshake’ - announcing a ‘innovative’ sponsorship deal, with a static picture of (let’s face it) two white men shaking hands - let’s be more creative! 💁♀️ 2024 is an amazing time to be a woman in sport! #womenssport #sportsmarketing #LeadersWeek #WomenInSport
