Tara Crowley, Senior Recruitment Manager on the Restart Scheme at Reed in Partnership, told us about her donation to Disability Peterborough – a local charity close to her heart: "The changes to Winter Fuel Allowance have meant many people are unaware that they are eligible. Disability Peterborough are currently working hard to identify those people and get them signed up to receive what they're entitled to. "Working at Reed in Partnership, we see the hardship that some people who are on our caseloads face. Disability Peterborough also have a hardship fund for people who fall on hard times through no fault of their own. "My parents have been helped by Disability Peterborough - if we can then in turn help them to ensure people are not cold this winter, the money will be well spent!" #improvinglivesthroughwork #lifeatreed

We are really pleased that our DWP Restart Scheme Recruitment Manager in Scarborough, Jenny Smith, has been shortlisted for an Employment Related Services Association (ERSA) award this year. Jenny, who is part of our Employer Services team, has been recognised in the Employer Engagement Practitioner category for her dedication to sourcing excellent job opportunities with local employers for jobseekers accessing our delivery of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Restart Scheme. It's also great that our employer partner, OCS, have been shortlisted in the Employer Partnership of the Year category, after we nominated them for their commitment to placing jobseekers using a Reed in Partnership service into work. We work closely with OCS, whose dedicated social value approach has resulted in 75 people starting work at the company since January 2024. You can read more about our partnership with OCS here: https://ow.ly/636J50TX5YM 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝟬𝟭𝟮𝟮𝟯 𝟳𝟵𝟬 𝟲𝟳𝟳. 💡 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝗽 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵? In yesterday’s Budget, the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, stated that ‘economic growth will be our mission for the duration of this Parliament’. The Chancellor also announced that the Government’s Get Britain Working White Paper will be published imminently. The White Paper will, Reeves said, be focused on ‘tackling the root causes of inactivity with an integrated approach across health, education and welfare’. Ensuring a joined-up approach between work and health will be critical to realising the economic growth that the Government wants to achieve. Our experience of delivering employability support, such as the Work and Health Programme, and health interventions like the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme, gives us a unique perspective on how successful results can be achieved. In his latest article, our Employability Director, Nick Morgan, sets out the centrality of driving behavioural change to realising permanent, beneficial changes to people’s health and employment outcomes. We are looking forward to the publication of the White Paper and to working with national and local stakeholders to put the solutions in place that will drive the growing economy we all want to see. We were delighted to welcome the new Labour Member of Parliament for Rochester and Strood, Lauren Edwards, to our Chatham office. Lauren met the local team, supply chain partners, employers and participants to find out more about the difference the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Restart Scheme is making in her constituency. We are proud of our work, which is ensuring more people are getting access to the training and skills they need to enter and remain in fulfilling employment. #TransformingLives #Jobs #Skills

Our Citizen Services division helps people to progress from their current situation towards a positive destination. Funded by The Careers & Enterprise Company and the Greater London Authority, our Central London Careers Hub team works with over 230 schools to upskill staff and enhance career opportunities for young people. Last year, we provided frontline support and advice to more than 15,000 refugees through our delivery of Migrant Help’s AIRE service, and the UK Home Office’s Refugee Employability Programme - London & North East, helping refugees to resettle and find independence in the UK through skills and employment. We also supported over 1,200 participants in touch with the criminal justice system to reintegrate with communities and reduce re-offending through the Ministry of Justice UK CFO Activity Hubs. We are pleased to be continuing this work through the new CFO Evolution service. Most recently we were proud to launch our delivery of the UK Ministry of Defence ’s Career Transition Partnership, which is supporting members of the Armed Forces across the country to move into civilian life. It was an honour to attend the 14th annual Soldiering On Awards on Wednesday. The awards showcase the incredible achievements of those in the Armed Forces Community and the immense support offered by so many others in support of them. We were privileged to sponsor the “Education, Training and Development” award, which honours excellence in the provision of vocational education, training or skills development. Our three great finalists for this award were: CAPSLOCK, the Learning & Development team at Combat Stress, and Wings for Warriors (UK). We were delighted to announce CAPSLOCK – a provider of cyber security training - as the winner for this award, for their work in supporting service leavers, veterans and their families to learn new skills, explore the world of opportunities open to them, and become invaluable members of the cyber workforce. Our thanks go to X-Forces Enterprise and the Soldiering On Awards team for organising a fantastic evening. Congratulations to all of last night’s finalists and winners – you can find out more about the ceremony here: https://ow.ly/7hK350TNNzt #SoldieringOnAwards
