Siemens agrees to acquisition of its logistics business by Vanderlande Vanderlande has announced it is acquiring Siemens Logistics to enhance customer value by providing accelerated access to advanced technologies and improving its global presence. Aviation Services Association strengthens ties with International Air Transport Association (IATA). The collaboration will involve both organisations sharing and analysing safety information to proactively address safety issues related to ground and cargo handling, using ASA’s Safety Incident Database and IATA’s Incident Data Exchange. The work to develop best practices and standards will focus on key documents such as the IATA Ground Operations Manual (IGOM) and the IATA Airport Handling Manual (AHM). Aena has extended its package of incentives to regional airports to assist with post-covid recovery. Eligible airports will receive a 100 per cent discount on airport security and PRM (Passenger with Reduced Mobility) services for any additional number of passengers that exceeds the previous year’s equivalent, valid during the summer and winter of 2025 and 2026. New Zealand’s Christchurch Airport has inked a deal with Fulton Hogan to expand its freight aircraft parking area to meet rising demand for cargo operations. The deal is part of the airport’s 2040 Master Plan and will support the South Island economy by boosting trade connections, particularly in the rapidly growing e-commerce sector. In line with the airport’s sustainability goals, Fulton Hogan will use recycled materials and low emission asphalt in the construction work, which is expected to be complete by Q4 2025.
