This week, almost 200 new neighbourhood police officers were attested at Police Now’s National Graduate Leadership Programme academy, officially being sworn into the Metropolitan Police. This cohort is wholly dedicated to policing our complex and diverse capital city - supporting the Met through the well reported cultural and recruitment challenges it's currently working to address. Police Now was founded to support, diversify and innovate policing, and consistently recruits more diversity into policing than the national average. Within this record breaking cohort of the National Graduate Leadership Programme, 45% of officers identify as female and 30% come from an ethnic minority background. Good luck to all those who started their training yesterday, we can’t wait to see the impact you will make in policing and communities across London. Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Peter Burke TD. today officially launched the National Enterprise Hub. The Government of Ireland initiative brings together information and resources on over 180 Government supports from 19 different Departments and State Agencies which can be accessed through the new online hub at neh.gov.ie or by speaking to a member of the team of advisors by phone or via live chat. Today's launch brought together Ministers Peter Burke TD, Emer Higgins TD and Pippa Hackett along with representatives from the 19 government departments and state agencies involved in the National Enterprise Hub. Attendees also heard from Enterprise Ireland CEO Leo Clancy and Head of the National Enterprise Hub Conor O'Donovan in addition to a panel including Minister Pippa Hackett, William Walsh, CEO, Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI); Paul Kelly, CEO Fáilte Ireland; John Murray, Director Food & Beverage, Bord Bia - The Irish Food Board and Geraldine Magnier, Director and co-founder Idiro Analytics and Chair, Small Firms Association who discussed the positive impact of the hub for businesses. This free service will make it easier for entrepreneurs to access and avail of supports such as grants, funding, loans and expert advice across a range of sectors, including retail, tourism and hospitality, food and beverages.
