DCCI Academy (DCCIA) has opened applications for the 2025 Growth Programme. The programme is a series of training workshops and mentoring that supports growth from start-up to scaling stage. It is aimed at design and craft companies who are beyond ideation, have been operating for some time, and wish to scale beyond their current position either in the Irish market or an international market. “The DCCIA growth course is a comprehensive programme with mentor support that gives you the tools to focus better on the structure of your business ie. realistic pricing, market strategy, sales channels. American inventor and mother Marion Donovan is a very good example Tired of washing cloth nappies, Marion invented the first disposable nappy by revamping a shower curtain with the aid of her sewing machine to make “The Boater”, a reusable diaper cover. All the major manufacturers initially rejected her idea so she made and manufactured the product herself. She was granted her patent in 1951 and sold the rights to Keko Corporation that same year for $1million.
