These events have welcomed guests from across the industry for behind the scenes tours of Built Environment - Smarter Transformation's Innovation Factory and our site at the National Retrofit Centre to gain further insights on EnerPHit and this deep retrofit project from BE-ST, John Gilbert Architects and members of our delivery team. #retrofit #behindthebuild #tour

We were delighted to support Ratho Primary School with the donation of new football strips and a defibrillator! This contribution was made as part of our community benefits on our recent project to construct Ratho Early Years Centre and Library for The City of Edinburgh Council.

In the last 5 years we have completed over 55 projects within listed buildings with many of these being the recipients of industry awards!

This month for #FeatureFriday we are spotlighting our student accommodation projects. Today we are looking at our refurbishment of the Category B listed 53-68 South Bridge, a 60-bed student accommodation development in Edinburgh City Centre. Yesterday marked another fantastic visit organised by Built Environment - Smarter Transformation to showcase our ongoing works at Scotland’s Retrofit Centre and a behind the scenes look at BE-ST's facility!

Today, we hosted our second behind the scenes tour of Scotland's National Retrofit Centre. Attendees had the opportunity to see first hand how we’re applying the fabric-first approach, explore our innovative zero direct emissions heating system, and gain insights into the lessons we've learned, the challenges we've tackled, and the key takeaways from the build so far. It was great to be on site today at Built Environment - Smarter Transformation to see progress of Scotland’s National Retrofit Centre where Kenoteq’s K-BRIQ is forming the lower plinth of the building which is taking a fabric-first approach using sustainable, circular, low carbon and locally sourced materials. The living demonstrator project aims to set a benchmark for what the retrofit of a complex, multi-use non-domestic building could look like, providing a roadmap for similar buildings across Scotland, the UK and further afield. And with 50,000 non-domestic buildings to be converted to zero emissions heat in Scotlsnd alone by 2030, the project is a guiding light in carbon reduction.
