The government is right to engage with the public, NHS staff and stakeholders as it shapes the 10-Year Health Plan for England. This plan needs to provide a clear roadmap for real change and we're ready to help. We'll be sharing the insights you provided in our workforce census as part of our response. While the NHS tackles serious challenges—growing waiting lists and outdated facilities—we can't wait for a long-term plan alone. Action is needed now. In recent months, we've been pushing for immediate investment in NHS buildings and IT systems to boost capacity and help staff deliver more care. Along with our discussions with NHS England and DHSC officials, we've made the case for increased investment in our buildings and IT in our manifesto and in President Tim Mitchell’s keynote at the Future Surgery conference. We've also hosted a roundtable to influence waiting list initiatives with NHS England. Reports that Chancellor Rachel Reeves plans to include capital funding for the NHS in next week’s Budget are promising. But with broken lifts, flooded corridors and limited access to operating theatres, cutting waiting times will remain a struggle without serious investment in our infrastructure. We'll review the details of the Chancellor’s announcement next week and share our feedback with members. Read more about the 10 Year Health Plan for England: https://lnkd.in/dmqrAHsZ
