🎉 Exciting News! 🎉 Safer Business Network in partnership with Harrow Council launched 14 new Safe Havens this month! We’re thrilled to welcome our first two fire stations into the Safe Haven scheme: Harrow and Stanmore Fire Stations. Our partnership with Harrow has allowed us to introduce Safe Havens throughout the town, with cafes, libraries, community centres, churches, and Waitrose also joining the initiative to enhance community safety. Simon Horn, Borough Commander for Harrow, shared, “Harrow Borough London Fire Brigade is proud to support the Safe Haven initiative. Working in partnership with this scheme enables us to contribute to the safety of our community, particularly women and girls, who have been identified as needing this support.” Anna Inman, VAWG Coordinator from the London Borough of Harrow, expressed gratitude, saying, “We would like to thank Lilly Prior and the team. The support and training she has provided has been invaluable in launching this initiative, and we look forward to building on this partnership in the future.” Lilly Prior of Safer Business Network added, “I am proud to see our network of Safe Havens expanding across London as we continue to support individuals who may be vulnerable or in immediate danger while they’re travelling, working, or visiting various locations across London.” Interested in joining the Safe Haven scheme or want to find out more information? Reflecting on a very busy SaBA week, our next day of action focused on Eltham Town Centre in Greenwich. Held in partnership with Royal Borough of Greenwich and Metropolitan Police. 🤝 The day began with an informative security briefing where we shared our top 10 local offenders with over 23 in attendance from the local business community and Police. Our joint operation saw 7 police officers deployed on business engagement visits, 2 plain clothes officers and 1 sergeant on enforcement. We quickly saw results from the operation with a total of 6 deters of theft from shop, 1 stop and recover from a member business and 1 stop and search conducted on a known offender. We were able to engage with 27 member businesses, sharing 39 pieces of intelligence! Our presence was warmly welcomed by businesses and the general public with our high-visibility patrols and community focus. Huge thank you to all of those who assisted on the day.
