Its World Mental Health Awareness Day, an important day we should all be talking about. I'm proud to be the ExCo sponsor of our Mental Wellbeing Network at Santander UK. The theme for this year is prioritising mental wellbeing in the workplace, and it’s so important that we normalise conversations about mental health at work to enable colleagues to support each other in the right ways. We've done just that by focusing on starting these discussions and bringing people together with wellbeing events at our head office. #WorldMentalHealthDay

Education and skills will play a critical role in improving the UK’s productivity and economic growth. Our new report, Tomorrow’s Skills (http://ms.spr.ly/6043mQ9ET), highlights the transformational effects that AI, climate change and hybrid working will have on the future workforce, and how important it is that the government focuses their National Plan for Skills on equipping people for these changes. Our research shows the UK workforce is spending 20% less time on training than they were a decade ago, but 86% see the importance of having access to professional skills training throughout their working lives. At Santander UK we invest significantly in lifelong education and skills development. To help meet the needs we raise in our research, we’ve worked with xUnlocked and Fearless Adventures to launch a new education initiative on our online learning platform, Santander Open Academy, which gives people the chance to develop their skills in digital, leadership and net zero. The course content is video-led and easy to access, presented by experts in their field such as Keira Walsh and Charles Leclerc, to help ensure an engaging and accessible learning experience. From cinnamon swirls to beetroot brownies, we had it all 🍰 ☕ Another year, another fantastic Coffee Morning. We take cake very seriously here at Santander, and so our teams kitted out all of our floors in Unity Place MK with lots of tasty treats. While doing so we raised over £1,500 for our charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support. Thank you to everyone who spent time baking and everybody who donated to this fantastic cause 💚❤️

Did you know that we're partnered with SignVideo? SignVideo is a service which helps Deaf customers communicate in their preferred language. If a Deaf customer needs to call us, SignVideo works by connecting them with a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter via videocall. This service is now available 24/7, 365 days a year - so our customers can contact us whenever they need to. Deaf customers can also use SignVideo in our branches, to connect to a BSL interpreter remotely, meaning that they can communicate with our staff quickly and conveniently. We know our customers have different needs, so we've made products and services designed to support our customers who may need that extra bit of help.

A special shout-out to our Macmillan partnerships team! 💚 We landed 6th on the C&E Barometer for Most Admired Corporate Partnerships. This is a real achievement for us, having climbed 8 places since last year, showing the impact we're making across the financial sector. To top this off, last week we were also awarded for our sponsorship of the Mighty Hikes programme. It's an honour to be recognised in this space through our partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support.
