This #TenantTuesday we welcome sustainable materials SME Seastex to our WBC community. The team joined us on the 1st of October, and are settled in and back about their business of tackling the shortage of eco-friendly, safe, and circular materials in the creative industries. Seastex focus on extracting, processing, and transforming mussel beards from aquaculture waste into acoustic and thermal products and they join us with the goal to scale up our innovative clean technologies from lab-scale to industrial-scale by prototyping machinery to commercially process mussel beards. Meet Seastex! 👋👷 One of the five startups in Cohort 2 of the Future Industries Demonstrator programme, Seastex is revolutionising sustainability in the architecture and design industries. Striving to combat the lack of renewable materials in those sectors, Seastex utilises mussel beards from aquaculture to create a range of renewable, circular building materials. Their forward-thinking approach incorporates mussel beards into the product development process, creating equipment that is recyclable and biodegradable.
