It was great to visit Broadwalk House today and see the newly installed secondary glazed partitions in-situ. They look great! It's been extremely refreshing working with Cast Interiors, who are a fast moving pragmatic interior fit out company with sustainability at their core. They have saved their client; British Land significant cost and carbon on this fit out through retaining and reusing existing materials. We come across large volumes of glazed partitions and they are a tricky product to reuse, but this example shows what can be achieved with strong collaboration and an aligned mission. Our sustainability team recently visited our Broadwalk House project for British Land to witness the successful reinstallation of deconstructed glass partitioning, facilitated in collaboration with Material Index. Material Index specialise in diverting deconstructed materials for reuse that would have otherwise been processed as waste.
