Our 2024 farming season in Namibia is well underway, constructing more nurseries to grow saline seedlings that will soon be planted into the Kalahari desert. These little climate champions are able to survive the driest place in the world and GROW IN SALTWATER! Our partner farmers at Imperani Farms have been feeding saltmarsh crops to their livestock since 2020 to mitigate the impacts of the chronic drought affecting producers in South West Africa. Producing climate-resilient feed for animals without relying on rain is a key objective for NARA Climate in this region.

Turning abandoned shrimp farms in Vietnam into integrated ecosystem farms with saltwater!
Over the last two years we've been working in Vietnam to transition salt-affected farms and aquaculture facilities into saline agro-ecologies (integrated saltmarsh farms), in order to promote climate resilience in salt-affected areas of the country. In partnership with USAID, the USDA Salinity Lab, and the Government Plant Resource Centre, this research involved numerous pilot projects with local farmers and the commercialisation of crops.
