'Remembering' by Arpita Singh is now open 💐 "What is a dreamlike, imaginative world to you, is a real world for me." – Arpita Singh For her first solo exhibition outside of India, Singh presents works that reveal her exploration of surrealism, figuration, abstraction and folk narratives. Central to the artist's practice is the idea of inherited memory—an experience that is shared collectively as much as it is deeply personal. Her works intimately portray domestic and inner life as well as the experiences of women navigating the outside world. She invites you to bring your own meanings, curiosities and questions to her work. 🎟️ Free entry 📍 Serpentine North 📆 20 March – 27 July 2025 - 'Remembering' is made possible by SP Lohia Foundation, with major support from Bagri Foundation. Building upon our research in Future Art Ecosystems 4: Art x Public AI, we recently published a white paper exploring the evolving relationship between AI and the cultural sector. We advocate for a proactive role for the cultural sector in the development of public interest AI, the protection of creators' rights, the establishment of Trusted Data Intermediaries, and legislation that promotes public value creation. We've just released our latest white paper exploring the vital role of galleries, libraries, archives, and museums in shaping an ethical and public-interest focused AI ecosystem. Through an innovative case study - the Choral Data Trust Experiment conducted alongside 'The Call', an exhibition by Holly Herndon and Mat Dryhurst - we examine how cultural institutions can serve as trusted data intermediaries and pioneer new models for responsible AI development. The research presents concrete findings on building collective data governance, establishing legal frameworks for dataset contributors' rights, and positioning cultural institutions as key stewards in the public AI landscape. At a critical moment in AI development, this research offers vital insights for cultural organisations, policymakers, and anyone interested in ensuring AI serves the public good. Read the full paper here: https://lnkd.in/dZ6v5VNs Thanks to the contributors and advisors: Jennifer Ding, Victoria Ivanova, Mercedes Bunz, Eva Jäger, Sylvie Delacroix, Ruth Waters, Matt Prewitt, Aleksandra Berditchevskaia, Tim Davies, Flynn Devine, Tommie Introna, Brandon Jackson, Joe Massey, Kasia Odrozek, Reema Patel, Aidan Peppin, Reema Selhi, Alek Tarkowski, Janis Wong, Alex Lawrence-Archer, Ravi Naik and Alasdair Taylor.

📢 Announcing the Serpentine Pavilion 2025! Marina Tabassum and her firm, Marina Tabassum Architects, have been selected to design this year's Pavilion. Celebrated for her work that engages with place, climate, context, culture and history, Tabassum looks at the permanent and the ephemeral nature of the commission with her design. Titled 'A Capsule in Time', the Pavilion will be comprised of four wooden forms with a translucent façade that diffuses and dapples light — inspired by arched garden canopies that filter daylight through foliage. Central to the design is a kinetic element, whereby one of the capsule forms is able to move and connect, transforming the Pavilion into a new space. She draws on the history and architectural language of Shamiyana tents, similarly kinetic structures commonly used for outdoor gatherings in South Asia. The openness of Tabassum's Pavilion welcomes conversations, live programmes and public convenings. We look forward to seeing you in June! 🎟️ Free entry 📍 Serpentine South 📆 6 June – 26 October 2025 - Images: Serpentine Pavilion 2025 designed by Marina Tabassum, Marina Tabassum Architects (MTA). On 14 January we held an event sharing insights on Serpentine Arts Technologies' data stewardship and governance experiment that was part of Holly Herndon and Mat Dryhurst's 'The Call'. R&D Strategic Lead Victoria Ivanova introduced our vision for Trusted Data Intermediaries — regulated organisations that act as collective-bargaining agents, protecting the privacy and interests of data contributors while also ensuring AI developers have access to high-quality training data. Thanks to the brilliant panel: Alasdair Taylor (Keystone Law), Alex Lawrence-Archer (AWO Agency), Cullen Miller (Spawning), Jack Hardinges (Data Empowerment Fund) and Jennifer Ding (Choral AI Dataset) Watch the discussion at https://lnkd.in/ezv-tFuQ
