ShareGift are delighted to share that, for St Andrew’s Day, we have awarded £90,000 to 13 Scottish Charities!
We love Scotland - every month we receive nominations for and give to charities based north of the border, and we work with a variety of fantastic partners in the financial services industry based in Scotland, which is why we were so pleased to do a Scottish specific distribution.
The following charities were so impressive in the holistic, multi-faceted way that they supported their services users. Govan HELP support families with children in Govan, Glasgow, through Family Support, Play Therapy, Volunteering & Training Opportunities, Adult Counselling and The Govan Pantry. Kidron Project provide practical and emotional support for people in crisis in Inverclyde while Social Bite provide homes, jobs, food, and support to empower people to transform their own lives. Grassmarket Community Project provide sanctuary and support to people dealing with multiple complex issues such as homelessness, learning difficulties, poverty, substance misuse, and more.
Of course, we were always going to include childrens and young people’s charties. Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, PEEK (Possibilities for Each and Every Kid), and YIPWORLD in Ayrshire all improve the health, wellbeing or social/educational attainment of children and young people.
With arts funding being reduced we are proud to have awarded grants to Impact Arts who use the arts to help people of all ages improve their life skills and reduce social isolation, while CREATE Paisley support young people's mental health and wellbeing through the power of the arts and creativity.
ENABLE, GLASGOW BRANCH work with people with learning disabilities and their carers in Glasgow, LifeCare Edinburgh support local older people to thrive in their community. Passion4Fusion meet the needs of diverse ethnic minority communities, particularly young people and women in Edinburgh and the Lothians through celebrating heritage and providing culturally sensitive support, while the superbly named Refuweegee ensure that people who have been forced to flee their homes arrive in Scotland to a warm welcome.
We’re a little early for Hogmanay, but we wish all these amazing charities all the best for 2025 and beyond.
