Smyle is expanding its freelance database of CNC Operators for our Hertford workshops! 👀 We are seeking motivated individuals to support our growing department, ideally with experience in CNC operations and carpentry/set building. This role involves working with our 3-axis CNC machine and using AlphaCam or similar software to ensure precise, high-quality production. Key Responsibilities: 👉Set up and calibrate CNC machinery, ensuring the correct tools are fitted to active machines. 👉Translate detailed part drawings into precise measurements for production. 👉Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto machines. 👉Set tolerance levels and cutting speeds to optimize operations. 👉Monitor machines during production, making necessary adjustments for optimal results. 👉Perform test runs and inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards. 👉Collaborate with the department to maintain a smooth workflow and technical precision. 👉Occasionally work overtime and weekends with prior notice (paid). Desirable Skills & Qualifications: 👉Proven experience operating CNC machinery and using CAD/CAM software. 👉Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings. 👉Carpentry skills or experience in a set-building environment. 👉A detail-oriented, results-driven approach with strong problem-solving skills. 👉Mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of precision tools. 👉Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
