The Sony Summer Challenge 2024 has officially wrapped up! 🏆 A massive shoutout to our 1,400 colleagues who participated, collectively covering over 290,000 km through running, walking, cycling, and swimming. Your incredible efforts have raised more than €33,000 for our chosen charity, Save the Children International! You've made us proud and shown what we can achieve together. A huge milestone last week, as we marked 50 million Raspberry Pis made in Wales at Sony - UK Technology Centre in Pencoed. We and our friends at Sony were honoured and delighted to welcome HM King Charles III to help us celebrate the occasion by packaging our 50 millionth board.

Leading technology manufacturer Sony - UK Technology Centre welcomed The King to its state-of-the-art facility in Pencoed to mark 30 years at the site and its 50th anniversary in Wales. As the longest-standing Japanese manufacturer in Wales, the visit marked five decades of Sony in Wales, after The King, as the Prince of Wales, played an instrumental role in encouraging the global company to invest in Wales in the early 1970s, going on to officially open the company’s first site in Bridgend in 1974.
