Adam + Eve The project aim was to transform the existing anonymous house into a place that reflected the personalities of the client; a professional couple who shared a love for the sun, and a passion for anything related to motorbikes. The ground floor was previously a maze of partitions and tiny spaces. A toilet, a shower room, a bedroom, a garage and a tiny entrance hall were forced into a small footprint. This was all cleared and a single partition was installed from the front wall. On one side of this partition, the garage was created, accessible from the street, and containing wall to wall red storage for motorbike-related paraphernalia. On the other side of the partition, a totally new entrance experience was created. Full height cupboards contain washing and drying machines as well as further storage. Blue staircase in our project Adam + Eve, with photos during the fabrication process 😊 The new blue steel staircase threads from the ground floor to the second floor, uniting the volume and creating an event in the access up to the top floor. The steel treads are welded together with all the welds ground smooth in order to create the appearance of a folded metallic paper suspended between the floors. The guardrail is made of stainless steel rods, bolted to each tread with the bolt head countersunk into the thickness of the tread to enhance the vision of a suspended folded sheet of paper. Adam + Eve house is the full transformation of a 3 storey London Mews House into a modern home filled with natural light and views to the sky. We are so pleased that Adam + Eve has been shorlisted in the Home transformation of the Year (up to 2,500 sq ft) category in this year's prestigious British Homes Awards! Adam + Eve , is the transformation of a mews house in Kensington, London. The first priority was to optimise the relatively restricted overall floorplan, in order to create light filled and noble new spaces. Accordingly, the room layout was reversed – a new light filled open-plan living space was created on the top floor, and the bedroom level was moved down to the first and ground floors. We are pleased to share the "After" and "Before" photos of our Adam + Eve project, a complete makeover of a mews house situated in Kensington. The front facade of Adam + Eve showcases a comprehensive refurbishment from the inside, despite the minimal alterations allowed on the exterior due to its location in a Conservation area. The new staircase in our project for a Mews House in Kensington and Chelsea! The staircase is teated as a sculptural element. The steel treads are welded together with all the welds sanded to create the appearance of a folded metallic paper. The guardrail is made or stainless steel rods, bolted to each tread with the head of the bolt being countersunk in the thickness of the tread.. The handrail is created as a slot in the finished layer on the party wall side, with a recessed LED light.
