Huge thanks to everyone who joined us for our first event of 2025 last night at Level X Middlesbrough! 🏎️🎳🏌️ We smashed the January blues as everyone got stuck into bowling, golfing and karting. 👊 There was definitely some competitiveness on show, especially on the race track which got a bit feisty at times! 😂 All around a good night enjoyed by all. Thanks everyone for coming along and making it such a great chance to network while having some fun. 🔗 Missed out but interested in attending our events? 🎙 Season Finale: Empowered Steps – A Chat About Resilience and Innovation 🎉 Our final episode of Season 4 is here! And we’re going out on a high. 🚀 In Episode 12 of Fear Less, Do More, host Gill Hunter sits down with Lyndsay Watterson, founder and CEO of Neo Walk, whose mission is redefining mobility aids with style and confidence. After losing her leg in 2010, Lyndsay took matters into her own hands—literally—creating a range of bold, empowering walking sticks that have caught the attention of Hollywood and beyond. 🎬✨ 🎧 What’s in store? • How Neo-Walk grew from a small business in York to an international brand • Why Lyndsay sees disability as empowerment, not limitation • Her unforgettable experiences—from Dragons’ Den to the Paralympics and even the Bad Education movie • The next big step: breaking into the US market while finding time for personal passions (spoiler: it involves a pet cockatoo 🦜 and upcycling furniture!) • It’s an inspiring conversation on resilience, innovation, and the power of thinking differently. Thank you for an incredible Season 4—we’ll be back soon with even more fearless conversations! 💡 Links in the comments below. 🔗👇 #FearLess #DoMore #Podcast #Entrepreneurship #Innovation #DisabilityEmpowerment #NeoWalk #Resilience

A big thank you and well done to Kim McGuinness and the The North East Combined Authority on their People, Potential and Opportunity Event today. What a fantastic turnout! Great to hear from some brilliant inspirational speakers on culture, values and purpose led organisations…all of which makes people happier and healthier! Charlie Charlton brought her usual truck load of energy and did a great job comparing the event. Some key highlights for us: Dr. Alex Hope on business but not as usual...the many benefits of being an ethical business from reputation, customer satisfaction to the bottom line and why it's vital for success Hearing Gabe Davies who works for values driven company Patagonia and how their mission to 'protect home planet' is integral across the whole organisation How purpose driven businesses are growing faster and have higher customer satisfaction with Colin Bell And rounding off the morning was Gill Hunter’s keynote around being an authentic leader – an honest account of her journey as a leader within the legal sector. How vulnerability and authenticity are key on creating psychological safety for people and how she brought this to life at Square One Law. Also there is a new business accreditation scheme coming soon from the NECA which will be worth registering your interest in! There was also a great session by Clare Morley (nee Goatman) about getting us all moving so that we can be a happier and healthier region!
