About Tai Calon Established on July 26th, 2010, Tai Calon is a not-for-profit organization and the largest provider of homes in Blaenau Gwent, managing nearly 6,000 properties. As a key employer in the area, we have a dedicated team of over 280 trained professionals. Our commitment to affordable housing is reflected in the more than £31 million we collect annually in rent, which is crucial for maintaining and enhancing our services. Since 2010 we have invested over £243 million to ensure our homes meet the Welsh Housing Quality Standard, reinforcing our commitment to providing safe and comfortable living spaces for everyone. We take pride in our work and continually strive to improve the quality of our customers’ homes and the communities they live in. Tai Calon is also dedicated to giving back to our customers and ensuring environmental sustainability in all that we do. Today I was out in the community, with Damian Vizard to capture some pictures (yes, of me!) for our new strategic vision document, setting out our ambitions for the next 4 years… It was a pleasure to visit one of our Supported Housing schemes as part of this, but when I noticed some of the residents doing some gardening and struggling to extract a giant fern root, there was only one thing to do - get stuck in and help, but get captured in the act!!!! These gents are passionate about their gardening, and following a cuppa in the communal kitchen, we had a quick chat on the bench about their future plans to win the next gardening competition! And it’s only Monday at Tai Calon Community Housing Limited! #residents #gardening #community
