The theme for International Day of Older Persons 2024 is ‘Aging with Dignity’ and how we can strengthen care and support systems for older people. To celebrate the event, residents at Newtown Court in Cardiff enjoyed a buffet lunch, a nostalgic quiz and a performance from singer Kelly Hurst with songs to take residents down memory lane. Newtown Court is one of our Living Well housing schemes, where people aged over 55 are supported to live safely and independently. We asked Sian Evans, Manager of Living Well, to describe the service and how it helps residents age with dignity and independence. “Living Well is a service that supports all our residents to thrive, creating an environment of trust and respect” said Sian. “We continually learn and grow with our residents to develop a service that is fully inclusive, helping people to live healthy, happy lives.”
