Tankships are a specialist in coastal tanker trade. As the shipping division of James Fisher and Sons plc, we encompass James Fisher Everard (JFE), James Fisher Shipping Services (JFSS) and Cattedown Wharves managing port facilities in Plymouth. As a collaborative, we benefit from more than 170 years of experience in coastal shipping and can offer flexible, efficient and low carbon marine transportation solutions. We also manage fleet operations for product and chemical tankers; increasing HSE performance, fleet utilisation and reducing the operating costs of our customers, who are the centre of our business.

  • 🚢 Dry Docking Update🛠️ We’re pleased to share that our vessel Superiority has successfully completed her 4th Intermediate Docking Survey at Nauta Shipyard, Poland! This critical maintenance ensures that she stays in optimal condition for her next two years of service. During this dry docking, we carried out: ▪️ Full hull cleaning and blasting ▪️ Application of a fresh coat of antifouling paint ▪️ Comprehensive machinery maintenance ▪️ Thorough surveys and safety equipment checks A big thank you to our trusted partners Nauta Shipyard, Captain Witold Ciesielczyk, Chief Engineer Oliver Baltarete and the Superiority crew, Project Engineer Paul Moody, Electrical Superintendent Steve Wooff, and Senior Ship Manager Scott Dobson for their dedication and hard work! 🌊⚓

  • James Fisher Tankships is delighted to complete the delivery of vessel Leander Fisher onto a 5 year charter to the UK MoD. The charter continues a longstanding relationship between James Fisher and the MoD.   Leander Fisher is a 35kt dwt tanker, she has a LOA of 154m, beam of 36m, and a summer draft of 9m. She was delivered in 2022 and is equipped with twin engines plus a bow and stern thruster giving enhanced manoeuvrability. The vessel will be crewed using James Fisher and Sons plc experienced pool of UK Seafarers.   Delivery of the vessel took place in Gibraltar and included the vessel being renamed and reflagged to the UK and James Fisher's home port of Barrow.

    Following our announcement that we’ve signed contracts for four new state-of-the-art LNG dual-fuel vessels - Orca Fisher, Narwhal Fisher, Tiger Fisher, and Dolphin Fisher – we’re pleased to share that we recently celebrated steel cutting ceremonies for the first two vessels at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Yangzhou) Dingheng Co Ltd (CMJL). The first ceremony took place in November and was attended by our Head of Maritime Transport Krystyna Tsochlas and Head of Newbuilds Iain Salter, while the second occurred just a couple of weeks ago. Construction on the vessels is now well underway, the first of which, Orca Fisher, is anticipated join our fleet at the end of 2025. Thank you, CMJL for helping us to usher in our Fleet of the Future, and to our site team for helping to bring these vessels to life!   • We are pleased to share a photo of the Seniority coming out of her 4th Intermediate docking survey at Nauta Ship Yard, Poland. The work included a full hull clean and blast, a fresh coat of antifouling paint along with machinery maintenance, surveys and safety equipment checks to ensure the vessel remains in great condition for her next 2 years of service. We’d like to thank our partners at Nauta Ship Yard, the Master and crew of Seniority, Project Engineer Paul Moody, Electrical Superintendent Steve Wooff, Ship Manager Scott Dobson and Fleet Operations Manager Matthew Pringle for their hard work.
