🌟 Empowering the Next Generation of Women in Energy 🌟 Earlier this month we welcomed 16 school pupils to our James Fisher Decommissioning site in Aberdeenshire as part of the Girls in Energy initiative, supported by Shell UK and North East Scotland College. The girls heard from female professionals at James Fisher, where they learned about decommissioning, career paths, and the variety of roles within the organisation. An activity session had them design and construct a subsea jacket, with the winning team successfully supporting nine shackles; they even took their jacket back to school to showcase their work. The visit concluded with a tour of the yard, workshops, and real-life equipment. #GirlsInEnergy #EmpoweringWomen #FutureOfEnergy #Decommissioning #STEM #CareerPathways #YoungPersonsGuarantee #OneJamesFisher

Last week, global energy leaders - including our Chief Digital Officer, Sean Huff - gathered at CERAWeek to discuss "Moving ahead: energy strategies for a complex world." Geopolitical uncertainty and accelerating growth, driven by AI and innovation, were two key themes that stood out throughout the event. Sean’s reflections on CERAWeek provide valuable insights into the challenges facing the future of energy, as well as the unique and creative opportunities to adapt to these changes and meet market demands. At James Fisher, we understand the critical role of flexibility, security and sustainability in this evolving landscape. Across our Energy, Maritime Transport and Defence Divisions, we partner with our customers to pioneer safe, tailored solutions that drive innovation and address complex challenges while supporting the energy transition. #EnergySecurity #FutureOfEnergy #CeraWeek2025 S&P Global
Just finishing #CERAWeek 2025 in the US. What an amazing collection of leadership and talent from around the world. CERAWeek is the premier gathering of global energy leaders discussing the major themes of the coming year. I represented James Fisher and Sons plc, a global energy services business headquartered in the UK - working to develop the blue economy in #energy, #defence, and #maritime transport. We attend #CERAWeek because we want to know where our clients are headed, what they worry about, and what challenges they want solved to realise their ambitions. After many days of densely packed sessions and panels, I felt the two overriding themes that emerged were geopolitical uncertainty and growth. For growth - the incredible rise of #AI and the pull it has on the energy industry cannot be overstated – and the innovation opportunities it affords to nations all over the world are profound. AI was present in every panel, every conversation and woven into every topic. Unsurprisingly, the energy industry is responding by providing the energy resources required to fuel that significant growth – and while doing so creating huge opportunities through the value chain. This AI growth is significant because not only is the infrastructure of AI data centres creating demand for cleaner energy (#hyperscalers driving the energy transition by buying clean energy), it is also being used to deliver traditional energy in more efficient and creative ways (via decarbonisation and reduced emissions). When high value demand is present, supply chain innovation appears everywhere. However, the reset, restructuring and realignment of global geopolitical relationships was the other key theme of the week. The energy industry is very practical and pragmatic – engineering the solutions the world needs. But it too must adapt and evolve to the changing landscape, navigating increased complexity and risk. That complexity was on everyone’s mind – and for the energy industry that translates into discussions of #EnergySecurity. To deal with geopolitical uncertainty and energy security challenges – the industry is responding with maximum flexibility. This means developing and delivering all forms of energy – as all play a part in maximising availability while maintaining flexibility and affordability – in a world where energy demand continues to rise. I am already looking forward to next year.

🌍✨ Celebrating International Women’s Day! ✨🌍 At James Fisher, we’re proud to spotlight inspiring women across our business — including Janny, Product Manager and Analytics Lead at Asset Information Services Janny’s passion for maths and science led her to a career in tech at the dawn of the digital age. Inspired by trailblazers like Ada Lovelace and Grace Hopper, she pursued computer science and now helps drive innovation in digital products. Her advice to the next generation? 💡 “Don’t be afraid to try new things — you’re capable of more than you think.” How has the role of women in tech evolved? 👩💻 “Today, I see more women thriving in IT and STEM fields. Diversity and inclusion initiatives in Big Tech are helping close the gender gap and creating more opportunities for women to excel in tech.” Here’s to celebrating the achievements of women past, present, and future. 💜 #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2025 #WomenInTech #DiversityInSTEM #Inspiration #OneJamesFisher

I am looking forward to attending CERAWeek in Houston, USA in March (10-14) – with the theme this year being ‘Energy Strategies for a Complex World’, on behalf of James Fisher and Sons plc. For all my colleagues and friends in the industry – I am looking forward to connecting up that week – please reach out and get in touch. As I mentioned last year - in James Fisher and Sons plc – we sit at the confluence of significant global trends: energy transition, decarbonisation, disruptive digitisation, energy security, and marine energy transport. Our unique position as a service provider to global international and state-owned energy companies, large utilities, and militaries means we are out in the world engineering solutions and executing in harsh environments. As CDO, I lead our efforts to transform how we do business – to improve our service delivery and enhance our clients’ experiences with new tech. I also lead our company efforts to partner and collaborate with new disruptive start-ups that are dramatically impacting our end markets. Therefore, the combination of the CERAWeek Executive Conference – with strategic insights from leaders across the energy landscape - and the Innovation Agora – with exposure to disruptive start-ups creating the new energy economy – is a perfect mix for me. I will see you there.

Yesterday, our Defence Division had the pleasure of hosting the Rt Hon Ian Murray MP, Secretary of State for Scotland, at JFD Global’s Glasgow facility. The visit included a tour of the facility, an in-depth look at the NATO submarine rescue system (NSRS), and a presentation which showcased JFD’s role supporting submarine rescue globally. This coincided with the announcement made by the Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer that a historic commitment has been made for major support to SMEs and increased spending on defence as part of the UK Government's new Defence Industrial Strategy. You can find out more about the visit and how we showcased our defence capabilities here: https://bit.ly/3QJOKrq #OneJamesFisher #SubmarineRescue #DefenceIndustry

🌟 Celebrating Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2025!🌟 Meet Jay and Max, brothers who both embarked on apprenticeships with us and are now thriving at our Oldmeldrum site. Jay began his apprenticeship with James Fisher Offshore in 2019 and is now a Workshop Technician. Following in his brother's footsteps, Max joined us in 2023 for his apprenticeship. Jay recently completed his offshore survival training and had the opportunity to work in Malaysia, preparing equipment for mobilisation. Meanwhile, Max is enjoying his second year of studying, balancing college and hands-on workshop experience, learning technical drawings, and solving problems. This year's theme, #MadeForBusiness, underscores the importance of apprenticeships in equipping individuals with the skills that directly contribute to business success. Jay and Max's journeys are perfect examples of how our apprentices gain real-world experience while continuing their learning and careers with us. Max's advice for aspiring apprentices: "Choose something you enjoy. The modern apprenticeship certificate is something you can carry throughout your career." Join us in celebrating our apprentices' achievements and their positive impact on our business. #ScottishApprenticeshipWeek #Apprenticeships #FutureWorkforce #SkillsDevelopment #OneJamesFisher
