Tonight saw a llineup of fantastic speakers new to the industry at the #SMPTE #YoungInnovators south event at Sky. The fireside chat, leading on from talks on acoustics, coding and virtual production, allowed recent graduates from across the industry to show their enthusiasm and insight. They gave great advice to current students many of whom were in the packed theatre at Osterley. We were delighted to see such diverse attendance and we will be looking forward to attending the UK Young Innovators event in the North in March! SMPTE United Kingdom Section

The DPP’s Mark Harrison this morning talked about #CES2025, the changing role of consumer technology and how that impacts the broadcast industry. Joined at Thomson Reuters by Chris Bailey, Laura Ellis and Martin Trickey, they discussed building more-flexible workflows, the continued impact of #AI and the link between innovation in consumer computing and #broadcast.

We're very excited to welcome Tasha Jones to the Techex team as Account Manager. Tasha joins us from BT M&B and has been actively involved with SMPTE including helping establish the SMPTE North Section and supporting the Rise Academy. With her passion for skiing and football, we're sure Tasha will fit right in! Welcome Tasha!

Working with them and our customers, we’ve seen new designs created, unique functionality written and new bonds forged which has been so enjoyable to be a part of. To mark Save the Children UK #ChristmasJumper day, the Techex team brought together an impressive array of Christmas jumpers and festive attire of all sorts. From #LiverpoolFC to #Teletext, there's a jumper for everyone!

David Mitchinson will be speaking at the #SVGSummit NY on Secure Transport and Seamless Switching in the Compressed Domain explaining how a range of real world challenges have been solved.
