Including the More-Than-Human World in Responsible Research and Innovation: Developing a Conceptual Framework A pioneering framework has been proposed to include the “more-than-human-world”, that is land, animals, soil, plants, and water, in Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). The project led by Drs Catherine Price and Tom Bott saw the gathering of a diverse group of stakeholders at an in-person workshop at the University of Nottingham. The discussions were focused on the inclusion of multiple species and non-living beings in RRI frameworks. Findings from the workshop emphasised the significance of expanding the scope of RRI to embrace a varied ecological perspective. Professor Colin Snape and Dr Tom Bott, from the Biochar Demonstrator team, took part in an interview with the Land Use for Net Zero (LUNZ) Soil Health and Carbon Dynamics Topic Advisory Group (TAG) community. The interview, on the topic of biochar, was conducted by the TAG co-leads Ellen Fay (Sustainable Soils Alliance) and Professor Pete Smith (University of Aberdeen). The full interview can be viewed on the LUNZ YouTube channel using this link: https://lnkd.in/edFQrYYg or a summary of the key takeaways can be read at this link: https://lnkd.in/eiqHP253

Our Project Manager Genevieve Hodgins spoke to Tom Previte for his new podcast 'Grounded: A Climate Startup Journey' a few months ago. You can hear a little about our #biochar project on the first episode!
🎙 New Carbon Removal Podcast Launch 🎙 We are excited to launch "Grounded: A Climate Startup Journey", a new podcast that follows the story of a startup that wants to remove carbon from the atmosphere through biochar. It was a good few years back when Tom Previte stumbled across biochar. That was during the first season of a podcast he co-hosts - ‘The Carbon Removal Show’. And it turns out that this biochar stuff… it's not just an ancient technology but also a cutting-edge solution for today’s climate problems. Grounded: A Climate Startup Journey captures the highs and lows of a green startup - from sharp learning curves to unlikely breakthroughs. Listen in as Tom digs deep into the realities and complexities of setting up a carbon removal project, and gets to grips with the science, the money, and everything it takes to build an environmentally (and financially) sustainable business. Because if we’re going to save the planet, we’re going to need a lot more businesses like this one. "Episode 1: Scr*w it, let's do it" features some amazing guests, friends and confidants, including Genevieve Hodgins (The Biochar Demonstrator), Alex Hume (Finance Earth), Mick Jones & Darren Jones (Woodtek Biochar Ltd) and the one and only Emily Swaddle! Thanks to the team who has put this together Ben Weaver-Hincks, Jack Turnham, Paola Sáenz & Liubov Pankiv You can subscribe to all episodes via - https://linktr.ee/Restord And learn more about everything we're up to on - https://www.restord.earth/
