Funding Announcement! Are you an Early Career Researcher (ECR) with an interest in biochar? The Biochar Demonstrator Flexible Fund opens for applications Monday, January 6th 2025 until Friday, February 28th 2025. The fund will support the research projects of ECRs with awards up to £40k (80% fEC) to investigate gaps in biochar research. Including the More-Than-Human World in Responsible Research and Innovation: Developing a Conceptual Framework A pioneering framework has been proposed to include the “more-than-human-world”, that is land, animals, soil, plants, and water, in Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). The project led by Drs Catherine Price and Tom Bott saw the gathering of a diverse group of stakeholders at an in-person workshop at the University of Nottingham. The discussions were focused on the inclusion of multiple species and non-living beings in RRI frameworks. Findings from the workshop emphasised the significance of expanding the scope of RRI to embrace a varied ecological perspective. Professor Colin Snape and Dr Tom Bott, from the Biochar Demonstrator team, took part in an interview with the Land Use for Net Zero (LUNZ) Soil Health and Carbon Dynamics Topic Advisory Group (TAG) community.
