We’ve had another great question for our mining myth buster series, this time we're focussing on our Mine Entry Interpretive Report and why we believe it’s necessary for the best result to have two separate boundaries digitised. Our Mine Entry Interpretive report provides: ✅ A detailed assessment of the mine entry's potential impact on the property, based on expert calculations of its zone of influence ✅ Information on the mine entry, including the mineral worked, its source, and the depth of superficial deposits in the area ✅ Clear guidance for property buyers to make informed decisions We’re here to provide confidence in the coalfields to our customers, allowing them to make safe, well-informed decisions. If you haven’t already subscribed, you can catch up on any previous episodes you’ve missed here: https://lnkd.in/eGZ6NRtA If you've got a question for one of our future episodes, you can email your questions to customerservice@coal.gov.uk.

🌍💧 Supporting the next generation of sustainable innovators 💧🌍 Our mine water heat experts have been out and about sharing their knowledge and sparking fresh ideas in mine water hydrogeology! Our Fiona T. recently visited The University of Edinburgh School of GeoSciences to discuss the challenges and opportunities of mine water with MSc students. They explored the potential of mine water heat, and it was fantastic to see such strong interest in using sustainable energy sources to support a low-carbon future! Meanwhile, our Head of Mine Water Heat, Gareth Farr, spoke to students at the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University as part of their "Low Carbon Pasts, Low Carbon Futures" module. His session explored innovative ways to harness mine water heat to support a just transition to renewables. We’re also proud to support PhD and MSc students during their projects to help develop research that can push sustainable solutions forward. Exciting to see so much curiosity and enthusiasm for the future of sustainable energy! 🌱🔋 Our next stop is Heriot-Watt University later this month to provide a guest lecture on mine water heat as part of their Masters in subsurface energy systems. #MineWaterHeat #GreenEnergy #SustainableFuture #StudentEngagement #MiningLegacy

We've been supporting customers who buy property or land for development across the coalfields since 1994. We get some great questions coming in and as such, we’ve created a Mining Myth Buster series to ensure our customers feel fully supported to make safe, well-informed decisions. This month, we discuss the key differences between our residential CON29M and our licensed data. We hope you find our series of value, if you have a question you would like us to answer, please send it in to customerservice@coal.gov.uk and we might just feature your question in our upcoming episodes.
