About us

Royal Marines have always been the first to understand, first to adapt and respond and the first to overcome – that’s the Commando Mindset but today Royal Marines and their families are fighting battles they cannot win alone. We are the Royal Marines’ own Charity and are uniquely placed to understand, respond and react, enabling Marines and their families to overcome their challenges including life changing injury, life limiting illness, mental disability, transition to civilian life and even poverty. We can target your support across every need to ensure no one is left behind. The Commando Mindset isn’t always enough, with your help the Royal Marines Family will win their battles. Our Vision Royal Marines and their families supported through life. Our Mission To provide the best possible through life charitable support for Royal Marines, their families, veterans and cadets. Our Purpose We are a single, unified and integrated charity for the Royal Marines extended Corps family, where cadets, the serving Corps, veterans and families are supported through life with benevolence, comradeship, transition support and amenities, underpinned with a cohesive sense of heritage and esprit de corps.

RMA- The Royal Marines Charity had a fantastic time at this year's Gone Wild Festival in Devon. It was a great opportunity for us to raise awareness about the support we provide in the RM community. We would like to say a massive thank you to all who stopped by our stand and helped us raise generous donations and achieve our RM360 Challenge, to clock up enough miles to travel round the UK. Well done, and thank you to all who were involved. #RMfamily

  • Later this week on Friday 23rd August, two hoofin’ Royal Marines are taking on an immense challenge: to run from Helensburgh, Scotland, to the Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge, with a detour up Ben Nevis, totalling 104 miles and a 1,345-meter ascent over a 30-hour period. They will be completing this challenge in support their friend, Ben, who suffered a life-changing injury and is still undergoing treatment at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre. Despite his adversities, Ben has still shown a fantastic mindset, and embodied the Commando spirit by remaining positive with an amazing sense of humour. Seeing the mindset of their friend and those who reside in the rehabilitation centre with him, the lads said they were inspired to "take on a challenge fitting for these men and women. A test of great mental and physical strength." They are raising funds for the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) and RMA- The Royal Marines Charity. • 💚 You don’t need a degree in listening to lend an ear. Our Lifting The Lid campaign is all about changing perceptions of asking for help. Why not use today to reach out to an oppo or a member of your family. Talk, listen, hear – If we talk openly about our mental health we can feel empowered to seek help if needed. Lift The Lid. Utilise the support available. #RMfamily To view support lines, including NHS OP Courage, please visit the link below ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/eW_y9CBG 24 HOUR HELP ⠀⠀ Samaritans - 116 123 ⠀⠀ Combat Stress - 0800 1381619⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ OFFICE HOURS ⠀⠀ ⠀ RMA - The Royal Marines Charity - 0800 468 1664 ⠀⠀ Project Regain - 01206 817057 ⠀⠀ Royal Navy Family and People Support - 0800 145 6088⠀

  • RMA- The Royal Marines Charity have been awarded a grant under the latest round of funding from the Office for Veterans' Affairs OVA Career Development Programme (CDP) through Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust to support Early Service Leavers once they transition. The funding awarded is £48,000 over 2 years. Zoe Darnbrough, Head of the Employment and Education Team will have oversight for the 2-year project. She commented, “We are delighted to receive this funding from The OVA and Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust. The project seeks to help Early Service Leavers transition. Many are medically discharged, often vulnerable, from challenging and disadvantaged backgrounds. This bespoke support will ensure the best possible outcomes from transition, whilst also separately identifying training and qualifications required to secure meaningful and successful future career prospects.” Tom Wilson, Director of Development, also said, “ The OVA and Armed Forces Covenant Trust Fund have recognised the unique support that RMA-The Royal Marines Charity provide. Our project seeks to bolster the transitioning process for vulnerable ESLs (Early Service Leavers) who have either been medically or administratively discharged during the course of their training. We are sincerely grateful for this grant funding from OVA and AFCFT, as it will help to support as many as 600 beneficiaries over 2-years.” #RMfamily
