The Commandant General Royal Marines - General Gwyn Jenkins CB OBE took the salute yesterday at the Commando Memorial in Spean Bridge for the RMA - The Royal Marines Charity Service of Remembrance. The Service was well attended from across the breadth of the Corps family and included representatives of 43 Cdo, His Majesty’s Royal Marines band Scotland and a plethora of RMA branches from across the country. #RMfamily #royalmarines #rm360

  • Join us as we celebrate 360 Years of Resilience and Adaptability: Honouring the Legacy and Embracing the Future of the Royal Marines. The Royal Marines were established in 1664 under King Charles II as the 'Duke of York and Albany's Maritime Regiment of Foot'. The Royal Marines are one of the oldest elite military units in the British armed forces. His Majesty, King Charles III, Captain General of the Royal Marines and our Royal Parton remarks: "The Royal Marines have an unparalleled history, both on land and at sea, I draw immense inspiration from their courage, determination, self-discipline and a remarkable capacity to ensure in the most extreme environments." RMA - The Royal Marines Charity would like to wish the entire Royal Marine Family a hoofing day. #RMfamily #RM360 #PerMarePerTerram #RoyalMarines

The Annual Royal Marines Commando Shuffles took place on the 12th October and saw a team of 38 take on the 12-mile speed march. The Troop stepped off from the War Memorial in Barnstaple along the Tarka Trail past RMB Chivenor before finishing at the Saunton Sands Hotel on Braunton Beach. The Troop was headed up by Royal Marines veteran Al Blanchard to fundraise for RMA - the Royal Marines Charity and The Special Boat Service Association. It was said that it was an excellent day for all with a great turnout that gets bigger and bigger each year and, as always, well put together by Al and his team. Yesterday to mark the 360th birthday of the Corps, over 30 RMA members took on the challenge to summit Ben Nevis. They carried with them 137 crosses to honour the 80th anniversary of the 137 Royal Marines who lost their lives on D-Day. The crosses have travelled 'By Sea, By Land' to reach the summit and have travelled overland to 43 Cdo, where the Royal Marines Paddle Group Branch collected them and embarked on the sea element of the journey to Fort William. On Thursday 24th Oct the crosses were passed to RMA-The Royal Marines Charity to be carried to the summit of Ben Nevis, the highest point in the UK, to toast the Corps 360th birthday, remember the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the Royal Marines that paid the ultimate sacrifice. The crosses will travel back to England before being laid to rest at the Graspan Memorial on Remembrance Day. A hoofin' effort made by everyone who was involved. "By Sea By Land, we will remember them." https://lnkd.in/e_hr-8RJ

  • Recently, former Royal Marine, James and his daughter, Becky, took on the HYROX Challenge in Amsterdam as a double team to raise money for RMA- The Royal Marines Charity. The HYROX is a challenge that combines both running and functional workout stations, where participants run 1 km, followed by 1 functional workout station, repeated eight times, and is designed to test the participants strength, endurance, and overall fitness. A massive well done to both James and Becky for their hoofin' effort and completing the event in 1hr 15mins. • Honouring the legacy. Embracing the future. Last year our benevolence support provided assistance to 2,853 individuals. Read Peter's story and how supplying him with camping equipment allowed his family to experience new adventures that brought them back together. Peter told us, "Thanks to the help from you guys, the children have had an amazing first camping experience." 💚 Use the link below to read the full story in latest Impact Report ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/eHid_bAT #RMfamily #RoyalMarines #support
