TP Surfacing & Coatings recently completed a Liquid Nitrogen-resistant flooring project for EMCOR UK, on behalf of GSK, at their Medicines Research Centre in Stevenage. In a laboratory area prone to nitrogen spills, we installed a Vinyl Ester Resin flooring system designed to withstand such exposure. Manufactured by Flowcrete, this durable system protects concrete and metal structures from prolonged or intermittent chemical, thermal, and mechanical stress. Additionally, it offers excellent resistance to UV-related deterioration over time. The installation took place over the weekend to ensure the laboratory's work schedule was not disrupted. By Monday morning, any fumes from the flooring had fully dissipated, allowing normal operations to resume smoothly. As an Addagrip approved contractor for over 20 years, TP Group Surfacing and Coatings, were initially appointed to install 103m² of Resin Bound Gravel for a picnic and seating area, plus 6m² of UV protected tree pits at the impressive Greenwich Millennium Village development. The material used for the Resin Bound Gravel footpaths was Addagrip’s BBA approved Addaset product using their 6mm ‘Rhine Gold’ blend. For the tree pits, 6-10mm ‘Rhine Gold’ aggregates were selected to compliment, and were installed at a depth of 75mm. The TP Group were invited back to the Greenwich Millennium Village to complete further works to the extended seating area. The extra works included a further 19m² of Resin Bound Gravel using Addagrip’s 6mm Rhine Gold to match what we had previously laid, and again, 6-10mm Rhine Gold aggregates for the Tree pits. The natural colour of the ‘Rhine Gold’ Resin Bound Gravel provides a bright appearance which contrasts well with the green garden area. The works took a total of 3 non consecutive days. Huge congratulations to our incredible runners for completing The New Balance Big Relay 2024! Despite the heat in London last Sunday, they powered through and conquered the 5K legs of the half marathon relay. It was a close call with only a mere 10 minutes and 2 seconds between the teams! The Alma Estate neighbourhood is one of Enfield’s largest housing estate renewal schemes, and is acting as a catalyst for the wider regeneration of the Ponders End area. Enfield Council and Countryside Partnerships have been working closely together with the Alma residents on the regeneration of the Alma Estate to create a mixed-use neighbourhood and balanced community, where people live, play, learn and work. As well as a 377m² area of Resin Bound Gravel, our talented team at TP Surfacing and Coatings were asked by CORBYN CONSTRUCTION LIMITED to create and install this decoratively designed safety surface within the play section. Beige, Sky Blue and Light Grey were the colours selected to form the triangular pattern within the combined 136m2 area, at various depths to take into consideration the critical fall heights of the various pieces of play equipment. The results created a striking final aesthetic and overall, the project demonstrates our commitment to combining safety, functionality, and visual appeal, resulting in a vibrant and inviting space that will be enjoyed by the community for years to come.
