Technology is fast evolving - and so must our response to predators who target children online. Advancements in AI are not the lifeline criminals think. Sexually explicit content of children may be created online: but the consequences of doing so are very real.

A new national policing hub will be created to centralise policing's response to violence against women and girls (VAWG) and wider crimes associated with vulnerability after government funding was confirmed today. The creation of a dedicated policing hub will support forces with specialist knowledge and training for investigators and officers, and lead on a national approach to preventing these crimes from happening, with other agencies. Police chiefs declared violence against women and girls a national emergency last year, and called for a whole-system approach that brings together criminal justice partners, government bodies and industry, to tackle the threat through prevention. Building on the successes of programs like Operation Soteria, the new centre will bring together existing national police programmes to work with academics on an evidence-based approach to crimes associated with VAWG and wider vulnerability. Remain vigilant and question who your clients are – that is the message from Security Minister, Dan Jarvis, to security professionals. He is urging you to ensure that you are not helping foreign powers to carry out damaging activity against the UK. The UK Home Office has published new guidance to support the security industry when you are approached for work. There are ways to ensure that you are not assisting state actors looking to undertake malign activity that would harm or threaten the safety or interests of the UK, which may result in you committing a criminal offence. For more information, see the guidance at https://lnkd.in/eymDJ9jC. #NationalSecurityAct #HomeOffice #SecurityProfessionals #SecurityIndustry
