We have c.2,000 employees and work in partnership with more than 60 higher education providers, as well as renting rooms directly to students. Our culturally-diverse customers are at the heart of our business and we aim to provide a home for students which supports their success, whether defined as academic achievement, personal growth or employability. Our properties provide high quality, well-located, safe accommodation that is close to university campuses, transport and local amenities. Our rent includes a study bedroom, all bills, insurance, 24-hour security, fortnightly kitchen cleans and high speed Wi-Fi throughout our buildings. Founded in 1991, The Unite Group plc is a FTSE 100 company listed on the London Stock Exchange. We are pursuing a sustainable growth strategy designed to make the most of the resilient nature of the student accommodation sector. We aim to maintain the strongest brand in the sector and operate the highest quality portfolio through consistent investment in and improvement to our operating platform, highly selective development activity, asset management initiatives and portfolio recycling. In addition to our wholly owned properties, we are also invested in and operate a small number of specialist funds and joint ventures with institutional investment partners, the largest of which is the Unite UK Student Accommodation Fund (USAF). The Group’s charitable trust, the Unite Foundation provides free student accommodation and a generous annual scholarship to young people in the UK who aspire to a degree but face the most challenging circumstances. We recently hosted our Annual Supplier Day. The event saw great turnout, with around 80 of our strategic suppliers present and 20 internal stakeholders from across the business. We thoroughly enjoyed catching up with key stakeholders from our partners 🤝 . The day was centred around sharing our vision and strategy for operational and sustainable excellence. Talks included an overview of our strategy from Tom Ellis, understanding our growth through our pipeline from Tom Brewerton and how we look to our suppliers to achieve our targets covered by Daniel Walker & Nicholas Pigula, plus many more key topics! We all came away inspired for what’s to come over the next 12 months. Thanks to all who attended and contributed!

Unite Foundation recently launched their annual Impact Report, highlighting the incredible support they’ve given to care experienced and estranged students during the 2023/4 academic year and beyond. Founded in 2012, the Unite Foundation offers a nationwide scholarship scheme that supports estranged and care experienced students with the provision of a rent-free home at university. As the founder and principle corporate donor, we are thrilled to see the amazing work the foundation has achieved in the last academic year. Read the report to find out more about the difference made in their areas of activity, from the scholarship scheme and community building, to removing barriers that care experienced and estranged students face when renting. Plus, much more.
Today we publish our annual Impact Report, looking at the difference the Unite Foundation made in the 2023/4 academic year and beyond. Key outcomes of our work in the year include: * 96 more care experienced and estranged students were awarded a Unite Foundation scholarship in August 2024, bringing the total of care experienced and estranged students provided with a safe, free #HomeatUniversity since 2012 to 813 * The number of care experienced and estranged students connected to one another through the All of Us community reached over 1000 * There was an 8% increase in universities providing clear, adequate information on the need for an accommodation guarantor on their website A huge thank you to all of those who made our impact possible, including our university partners, funders at The Blagrave Trust, Crucible Foundation, The Dulverton Trust, and The Portal Trust, and particularly our core donors, operational partners and champions at Unite Students. At the Unite Foundation, we're excited to be starting a strategy development period - drawing together everything we've learnt to date, and connecting with stakeholders to explore how we can become even more impactful in the years ahead. To super-charge that process, it's great news that it coincides with our recruitment for a new Chair, and we're fortunate that Kate Brown, who supported the team whilst Fiona Ellison was on maternity leave, is staying on to provide more capacity over the next six months. We would love to hear from you about how we can be most effective in bringing about change for care experienced and estranged students - do get in touch. https://lnkd.in/dKvXX9Yu
