The new Circular Economy Evidence report for Greater Lincolnshire LEP highlights the untapped potential of keeping resources in use longer - rethinking, reusing, and regenerating materials rather than discarding them. This shift isn't just about sustainability, it is an economic opportunity. Alongside SOENECS Ltd and Metro Dynamics, we worked with the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership (GLLEP) to build an evidence base assessing circular economy activity across the region. The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)’s State of the Nation 2025 report underscores the essential role of infrastructure in meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The report highlights the urgent need for affordable, climate-resilient infrastructure solutions across the Transport, Water, and Energy sectors. It emphasises the importance of digital technologies for improved management of transport networks, enhancing water recycling efforts to unlock new resources, and energy grid upgrades to support the net-zero transition. With input from over 36 industry contributors, including Expedition's Director Eva MacNamara, these insights represent a collective effort to drive sustainable infrastructure decisions. These insights play a key role in shaping policies that extend the life of existing systems and embrace innovative solutions for the future. We are honoured that Useful Studio won the ‘Best Innovation & Technology Project’ award at the Consultancy and Engineering Awards last night!  This prestigious recognition celebrates our commitment to lean design and a systems-based approach for improved adaptability, performance and value for our clients, users, the wider community, and critically the environment. A huge thank you to the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) for this honour!  Our winning project, the National Highways Gantry Design, is a pioneering approach to reimagining roadside infrastructure. In collaboration with our partners, the AtkinsRéalis/Jacobs JV, we designed an elegant, low-carbon family of gantries that reduce material use and carbon streamlining manufacturing and construction and improving the overall user experience on the strategic road network. How do you transform a listed industrial building into a cutting-edge, low-carbon workplace while respecting its heritage? At the Round Foundry in Leeds, the answer lies in its considered sustainable refurbishment. Working with Workman LLP and Hermes Investment Management, this project embraced the challenge of aligning historic preservation with net zero ambitions – resulting in a workspace that reduces carbon emissions, enhances energy efficiency, and celebrates the building’s legacy. The light-touch approach balanced innovation with preservation, aligning with Hermes’s long-term sustainability goals and global climate commitments; creating a workplace that is #FitForTheFuture. The Round Foundry demonstrates how thoughtful refurbishments can combine conservation with sustainability, showing the potential of historic spaces to meet today’s environmental and workplace needs.
