About us

Virgin Money is so much more than just a bank. As part of the Nationwide Building Society, we are driven by our purpose of ‘Making you happier about money’. Our purpose guides the way we do business every day and is the (Virgin) red thread that weaves throughout every decision we make. And we're all-in on it, from our values and behaviours to the products we offer and the experiences we create. We offer market-leading products and services to meet the full range of our 6.6m customers' retail and business banking needs via our leading technology platform, telephone banking and a national network of innovative stores and business banking centres. We're looking to the future – digitising our processes and revolutionising our services. We believe in doing banking differently, coming up with big ideas and working together. We all live our best lives when we can be ourselves, do incredible things, see the possibilities, and feel fired up. Live to make a difference. Live a life that suits you. Live a life more Virgin.

At Virgin Money there is an 'all year-round celebration of Black History and Black excellence'. At the heart of this is our incredible colleague network Embrace ❤️ Our network co-chair, Ugo Eboh, said Embrace 'have championed this from the forefront to make sure that ethnicity matters at Virgin Money'.  Embrace will be taking all of our colleagues on an insightful journey by sharing personal stories of resilience, hosting an event with Black Professional Scotland and other opportunities to get involved and celebrate Black History Month. But it’s not just about this month. Supporting Black talent year-round is important to us at Virgin Money. ⭐ We teamed up with The 10,000 Interns Foundation. This summer, 21 amazing Black, and Able interns joined us to learn new skills and gain experience, we are delighted that some of them have now joined us in permanent roles also. ⭐ Our internal career sponsorship programme supports Black colleagues to progress in their careers with us.  ⭐ This year we were a proud sponsor of the Black Talent Awards, which recognise the incredible achievements of Black professionals across the UK.  ⭐ We are also proud signatories of the Black Talent Charter. #VirginMoney #BlackHistoryMonth #DiversityandInclusion

We're proud to be changing banking and changing lives, by fostering digital inclusion for our customers and communities ❤️ A cornerstone of that commitment is our Virgin Money Foundation, with dedicated programmes that make a meaningful impact in our communities. But the Foundation couldn't do it without the inspiring Virgin Money colleague volunteers who support the programmes. Colleagues like Kevin Barrass, Digital Optimisation Developer. He volunteers as a Digital Champion working with Throckley Community Hall. Watch Kevin's story to see how he's helping the Men@10 group use digital technology to connect with the world. #VirginMoney #VirginMoneyFoundation #Volunteering

Over half of young people are worried about rising costs impacting their families. We are working with our charity partners Mind and SAMH to improve mental health support and raise awareness of the links between money and mental health. 🗣️ We’re developing a specialist training programme for colleagues to help those facing money worries. 📚 We’ve launched a new signposting guide which shares the types of help mental health support available in the UK so our colleagues can best support our customers. ❤️ If you’re struggling, please reach out to our incredible charity partners for support https://lnkd.in/e5AQjMC7 Research carried out with 1,000 children aged 11-17 by OnePoll in August 2024.

Today marks the start of National Inclusion Week 2024 and we thought it was perfect time to introduce our new Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager (DE & I) Charmaine Bonner ❤️ Charmaine joined the Virgin Money family last month and is excited about meeting colleagues across the business, getting involved with our brilliant colleague networks and bringing some new DE & I initiatives to life. Say hi if you see Charmaine in one of our hubs or on a call 👋 Details of your role: My role will be ensuring that diversity, equity, and inclusion are embedded right across Virgin Money. What you are most excited about: I’m most excited about meeting colleagues across the business, getting involved with the networks and bringing some great DE & I projects to life. Why you joined Virgin Money: I have followed Virgin Money on the socials for a while and last year I saw when BRAVER was launched and watching the videos from colleagues they really touched me and thought what a great culture Virgin Money seem to have and if there was ever an opportunity to work there I’d grab it with both hands, and look here I am! #VirginMoney #DiversityAndInclusion #NationalInclusionWeek #ImpactMatters
