❤️ Two weeks of my favourite things - Sport, Business, Changemaking & Meaningful Connections – All with Wales at the heart of it! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 The past fortnight has been a whirlwind of inspiring moments, incredible conversations, and real action towards "Change for the Good of All". Here are a few personal highlights of mine: 🏃♂️ Sport: From running the Anglesey Half Marathon (and feeling every mile of those headwinds and HILLS!) to watching history being made (with the most inspirational group of women, i'm lucky enough to call life long friends) as Lauren Price MBE (OLY) became Wales’ first-ever unified world boxing champion—Welsh sport continues to inspire. ⚽ Football has been at the heart of so many conversations—whether it's supporting the Cymru Football Foundation mission to continue to invest in Fit For Future and inspiring football facilities, or simply enjoying the drama of the Carabao Group Cup Final between Liverpool Football Club and Newcastle United Football Club with my father (Yes, it was an easier loss than normal to take as the people of Newcastle thoroughly deserved it) Sport has this incredible power to bring people together, and I’ve felt that more than ever these past weeks. 💼 Business & Leadership: At Wales Week / London , I had the absolute privilege of being part of conversations exploring the intersection of business, sport, and culture—alongside legends like Colin Jackson , Ann Ellis, Rebecca Edwards- Symmons and Katie Sadleir. Their stories of resilience and adaptability were truly inspiring, and a reminder of the bold leadership needed in uncertain times. 🌍 Changemaking in action: A real standout moment was welcoming Ashoka Fellow Lisa Westcott Wilkins for a private dinner at the home of one of our longstanding supporters, and hosting a live conversation with changemakers tackling #migration. Bringing together leading social innovators, Ashoka UK & Ireland explored how Wales and Europe can create more inclusive, human-centered solutions to migration. It’s always powerful to see #socialentrepreneurs turning big ideas into tangible change & another key moment was diving into how we move beyond carbon reduction to embedding real #socialvalue . It’s clear that the way we approach business and investment is shifting, and the challenge now is to ensure #socialimpact is always part of the equation. 🏡 Community & Connection: Wrapping up the week with Platfform on a River Cruise down the Thames was a special reminder of why this work matters—creating spaces for connection, healing, and finding new ways forward together. 💭 The big takeaway? Change doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when people come together—to share ideas, challenge the norm, and take bold action. And finally achieving the best work life balance! 𝗦𝗵𝗵𝗵, 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗵 𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗯𝘆 … My only true connection to Wales is tenuous at best. My paternal grandmother from Brittany in France spoke ‘Breton’ which is a Celtic language closely related to Welsh.   However, I feel more connected to Wales than ever before given my Ethos-Chain consulting colleagues Stephen Crabb, James Summers, Simon Griffiths and Spencer John are all Welsh. Simon and Stephen still live there, and it’s clear to me that all the guys cherish and support where they come from. I am proud that Ethos-Chain co-sponsored the ‘Best of Wales’ Gala Night which kicked-off Wales in London Week this year. This is an annual programme of events celebrating Wales’ heritage and culture, and showcasing a modern Wales to the rest of the world.  It provides a great opportunity for Welsh organisations to promote their products and services, and develop new London-based audiences, partnerships and connections. Shout out to Dan Langford OBE and Mike Jordan who run the event every year in his ‘spare time’. Cymru am byth! P.S. I won’t be mentioning the rugby.
