WGM attended the Business Fives Ltd five-a-side football tournament in Glasgow last week. It was a fantastic event bringing together 33 companies for some friendly competition, all in support of great causes. We’re proud to have played our part, raising funds for WaterAid as our chosen charity. A huge well done to all teams involved and congratulations to Azets on taking home the title! 👏

As part of Scottish Water’s £16.3 million investment, WGM are carrying out upgrades to the primary settlement tanks at Laighpark WwTW, which serves around 240,000 people across Paisley and the surrounding areas. Laighpark WwTW plays a crucial role in wastewater treatment, providing screening, grit removal, primary settlement, aeration, and final settlement before safe discharge into the White Cart River. We’re excited to see the final results and proud to support this important investment in local infrastructure!

Our team recently completed essential upgrade works at Hawes Pier Wastewater Pumping Station in South Queensferry, working in partnership with Scottish Water to enhance site performance.     Over four days on-site, our engineers:    🔹 Removed and replaced both pumps, guiderail setups, duckfeet, and rising main pipework in the well  🔹 Installed two new 3.1kW Flygt submersible pumps for improved efficiency  🔹 Worked collaboratively with CIS (Central Industrial Services), utilising their recycler trucks to empty and clean the well for safe entry  🔹 Partnered with our civils team to break benching around the duckfeet and remove concrete around the rising main pipework    A fantastic team effort ensuring continued reliability for Scottish Water’s network.

🎥 Take a look at work in action at our Glasgow Workshop! Our Engineered Solutions team recently worked on a pump from Gailes Wastewater Pumping Station after it was reported as not operating. Due to overhead restrictions, this was a challenging removal from the well, requiring the pump to be taken out one part at a time before being transported to the workshop. With extensive experience in pump maintenance and repair, our team is Scottish Water’s go-to choice for ensuring reliability and efficiency. #engineeringdayinthelife #dayinthelife
