A great article regarding our work, as part of the Anglian Water @one Alliance at Toplers Hill Water Tower. The tower was originally constructed in 1934 and we have been working hard to carry out important upgrade work.

Members of the North Foreshore WwTW Upgrade Integrated Delivery Team recently swapped the office for the great outdoors, as we, along with colleagues from other partners & Northern Ireland Water took part in a volunteering day to support the RSPB.   The day started with a visit to the RSPB’s ‘Window to Wildlife’, home to birds and wildlife from around the world. The team helped remove the invasive ragwort weed before focusing on the Whitehouse Lagoon, adjacent to Whitehouse WwTW. A successful beach comb saw the team tidy along the shoreline, collecting litter and waste from the beach. The Whitehouse Lagoon is a popular feeding ground for many different species of birds, including Great Crested Grebes, Oystercatchers and Black-tailed Godwits.   It was great to be able to help and support the RSPB and to learn more about the important work the charity carries out across Northern Ireland. The team got a real buzz 🐝 from the volunteering, and seeing the impact of their efforts made the day even more worthwhile. 🐦 🦆 🐸 🦉 🦋 🕷 🐞 ❤️ 💧

On Thursday, the Hattersley Engagement and Events Team (HEET) hosted a Charity Football Match to support our chosen charities: Noah's A.R.T., Finding Rainbows, and Coffee4Craig. Teams from our engineering departments—Process, Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical—competed fiercely. Each team played three 5-a-side matches, vying for the title of champions. All teams put in a valiant effort, but after many intense rounds, the Mechanical Team emerged victorious. Congratulations to them! Most importantly, we raised £160 for these wonderful causes. And Finally, our most recent award was from the 2024 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬. Members of MWH Treatment attended the ceremony held in Birmingham, on Thursday evening, and our team at Hampton Water Treatment Works scooped the 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝. This was for the Contact Tank Penstock Replacement and Water Ingress Protection work that has been undertaken. The work to replace the Penstocks (previously installed in the 1940's) was a pre-requisite to entering the Contact tank cells, where an inspection was a commitment to the Drinking Water Inspectorate. Daily calls were in place between internal stakeholders and clear escalation plans were in place throughout the work. Throughout the 50 day duration of each penstock replacement, no turbidity triggers were breached and no water quality failures occurred. Winning the award is testament to our commitment to innovation, safety, and excellence in water infrastructure maintenance. Utilising advanced technologies like 3D CAD design, CFD modelling, and real-time water quality monitoring, we ensured a safe and efficient upgrade without disrupting the water supply. This project not only improved operational efficiency and water quality but also set new safety benchmarks. These achievements highlight our role in driving forward-thinking solutions in the water sector, ensuring reliable and safe drinking water for our communities while paving the way for industry-wide advancements. A great achievement against tough competition from across the industry and a fantastic way to end the week. Now, if you fancy being a part of our 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦, you can find all of our latest vacancies through the below link... https://lnkd.in/eKeagAgA

📢 As promised, our next award win was at the 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬. Our team, working with Murphy & Stantec in the joint venture Advance-plus recently brought home the 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 from the Digital Construction Awards. The award was for the great work from the team at Oswestry WTW. The team have faced a significant challenge to deliver a huge investment through the project, in 33 months, whilst maintaining a live existing site with uninterrupted supply to customers. The team have tackled this head-on by adopting a 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥-𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 and fostering 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 across a network of more than 20 subcontractors, the client and suppliers. In addition, the project has also adopted a '𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞' on this challenging project to ensure interoperability and a collaborative ecosystem across the entire supply chain. It is with this collaborative approach that the team celebrates achieving the 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝! #DCW2024 RSK Group United Utilities Murphy Stantec Advance-plus
