Goole is undergoing transformation. The new Metsä Tissue factory will, once approved, bring 400 new jobs over the next decade. Building on the Siemens Mobility Goole Rail Village, over a 1000 jobs will have been created. The Humber Freeport will also bring more jobs to East Yorkshire. These are very exciting times. #newjobs #careers #EastYorkshire #Goole #EconomicGrowth
A major investment within the Humber has taken a significant step forward as plans are submitted to create the UK’s largest tissue paper mill in Goole. Finnish manufacturer Metsä Tissue and Wykeland Group , which owns the long-term development rights on the site, have worked closely together for more than two years to bring forward the plans. Subject to planning approval, the facility could create more than 400 jobs over the coming decade, in an investment spanning several hundred million pounds. It is the first proposed development in the Humber Freeport tax site in Goole, and is the largest investment across the Humber’s freeport footprint to date.
