Samsung had introduced its new flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, earlier today, and along with the announcement itself, the company shared some availability info for the two phones. It was announced that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will go on sale on March 16 in ‘select markets’, while no pre-order info was given as far as the global market is concerned, it will probably be announced on a regional basis. On top of that, the company announced that Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus handsets will be available. Having said that, we do know that the 64GB storage variant of the Galaxy S9 will cost $719.99 in the US, while its Galaxy S9 Plus counterpart will be priced at $839.99. We still do not have European pricing for the phone, nor pricing for any other region, for that matter, but if Samsung does announce it before the end of its press conference, we’ll make sure to update this article.

Samsung had introduced two variants of the Galaxy S9 and two variants of the Galaxy S9 Plus today. Each of the two devices will be available in two SoC versions, in the US, the Snapdragon 845-powered Galaxy S9 smartphones will be available, while the Exynos 9810 will do the same for European models, same goes for India. The Galaxy S9 sports a 5.8-inch QHD+ (2960 x 1440) Super AMOLED Infinity display, and 4GB of RAM, while the Galaxy S9 Plus comes with 6.2-inch QHD+ (2960 x 1440) Super AMOLED Infinity panel, and 6GB of RAM. Both phones were introduced in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options, though the availability of those variants will be market-dependent. The Galaxy S9 features a single camera on its back, while its ‘Plus’ sibling comes with two. A rear-facing fingerprint scanner is included on both phones, and both of them come with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, and Samsung’s Experience UI 9.0.

The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are made out of metal and glass, they do resemble their predecessors quite a bit. Samsung had also introduced both single SIM and dual SIM variants of both devices, when it comes to the single SIM models, you will have one nano SIM card at your disposal, while the dual SIM variants come with 2x nano SIM card slots, but you can use the second SIM card slot in order to expand an internal memory of a device using a microSD card. The Galaxy S9 sports a 3,000mAh battery, while the S9 Plus comes with a 3,500mAh unit.
