50,000feet is proud to announce a partnership with the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden to celebrate its 50th anniversary. 50,000feet is developing a visual brand identity system to mark this milestone and create a unique theme and brand communications for the museum’s annual gala. The gala will take place on November 10 at The Shed (NY). It will mark the beginning of the Hirshhorn’s capital campaign, which aims to revitalize the Sculpture Garden designed by Japanese architect Hiroshi Sugimoto. This will be the museum’s largest Anniversary Gala to date, bringing artists together to celebrate their contributions to society. 50,000feet is honored to partner with Philippe Petit to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of his high wire walk between the Twin Towers in New York City. In collaboration with Philippe, 50,000feet developed the visual identity to help commemorate this lifetime event. Taking place on August 7 and 8 at 8:30 p.m. ET at The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine, the “Towering!!” event consists of 19 short scenes conceived and directed by Philippe. Philippe will appear multiple times on the high wire walking the width of the cathedral. Musician Sting will perform two of his most beloved songs and the world premiere of “Let the Great World Spin” which was inspired in part by Philippe’s high wire adventure. The show also includes a short film by the director of “Man on Wire,” James Marsh, and several other guest performances. Remember augmented reality? AR doesn’t get the attention it deserves. Maybe because there always seems to be another technology like AI or virtual reality overshadowing it. But AR is alive and well, growing from 70 million U.S. users in 2020 to 101 million in 2025, a growth trajectory that easily surpasses VR adoption. AR is a more accessible branding opportunity for marketers than VR. The interface is built into a smartphone, requiring no additional equipment for someone to wear. As with any technology, AR is a catalyst for keeping your brand fresh and relevant and for changing the way people perceive and interact with your products, services and experiences. Retailers such as IKEA have used AR to improve their customer experience by enabling shoppers to envision products in their homes. This not only enhances the shopping experience by making it more interactive and personalized but also shifts the perception of a retail brand from a traditional in-store experience to a customer-centric, forward-thinking, omni-channel experience. In celebration of #Juneteenth this Wednesday, June 19, we're highlighting the essential mission of the Diversity in Design Collaborative. In June 2021, DID was founded to foster systemic change by increasing #diversity and improving conditions for Black creatives across the #design industry. Since its founding, DID has reached more than 1,160 high school students across multiple “Designed By” programs in Detroit, Philadelphia and New York City, while engaging nearly 250 college students through internships, mentorship and portfolio reviews.
