ADP was a recipient of the 2023 Exterior and Interior Renovation Award from the Friends of the Upper East Side Historic Districts for our work on the Church of the Epiphany. The 23,000-SF Romanesque Revival building, which played a big role in bringing together the Czech immigrant community in New York, was built by RH Robertson in 1888 and served as an early performance venue for legendary artists such as Barbra Streisand, Robin Williams and Jerry Seinfeld. ADP was involved in a 5-year-long gut renovation of the building that culminated in a new Sanctuary, day school, multi-purpose room, rooftop terrace, office space and commercial-grade kitchen equipped to support a neighborhood nonprofit food program serving over 1,000 meals daily to persons without homes and the elderly. "Comforting Aesthetics" are what characterizes the new corporate headquarters of Food52 in the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation's Dock 72, according to The Architect's Newspaper. The 40,000 SF behemoth of a warehouse space was tastefully converted into several test kitchens, photography studios and open offices for kitchenware designers. ADP helped FLOAT Studio fit Food52's ambitious program elements while making the space feel cozy and inviting. We are always happy to help design architects like Float create a tangible roadmap toward achieving high design goals. The new year has yielded some wonderful new developments. We are celebrating a couple of exciting promotions at ADP: Andy Liu, who has been with us since his high school years, was promoted to Associate Principal, and Elias Kotzambasis, who started at our office in 2019, has grown into the role of Associate. Both are collaborative team players who play key roles in leading historic restoration projects and freshening up our firm culture. Andy's core projects include master planning at the Yale Club, as well as renovating the Church of the Epiphany, Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 737 Park Avenue and Bellevue Men's Shelter. Elias has been involved in the meticulous cleaning and restoration of the Metropolitan Club, the gut renovation of a condominium unit at 432 Park Avenue, and the renovation of Plaza Hotel's lobby. #historicpreservation #adparchitects #architecturaldesign #meettheteam
