In Commercial Observer, Amanda Schiavo explores the value of pet-friendly amenities in residential buildings such as Douglaston Development's #3Eleven and Trinity Place Holdings' #77Greenwich: https://lnkd.in/eQ-ijqEY "Dog- and pet-specific amenities 'create stickiness,' said Daniel Kaplan, a senior partner with architectural firm FXCollaborative, the design team behind 3Eleven. 'It keeps people in the building, and that’s the most important thing for a rental developer.'" #petamenities #nycrealestate #amenities #pets #nycarchitecture #architecture

Unanticipated, unwanted, and unplanned MEP/FP penetrations can wreak havoc on our facades. That's why in 2013, as part of my FXCollaborative "Note to Self" blog series, I wrote what remains my all-time favorite post. Titled "A Day of Beauty," the blog emphasized the importance of architects dedicating more design attention to identifying MEP penetrations through the façade. Reflecting back, the message feels even more relevant, especially as outdoor amenity spaces loaded with security, Wi-Fi, and A/V devices, become increasingly integral to multi-family residential projects. Check it out and let me know your thoughts and experiences. https://lnkd.in/ecREt6Dj
