What a pleasure to take part in the Senior Living panel for ULI Boston/New England at The Newbury of Brookline. In a panel discussion after the tour, we spoke about Brookline's historic Fisher Hill neighborhood and how RAMSA | Robert A.M. Stern Architects and a talented team of colleagues entitled, designed, and built a contextually sensitive and sustainable senior living community. I appreciated the opportunity to exchange perspectives with Jim Tracey, P.E.; Joe Whitehouse, Ellen Anselone, and Jennifer Dopazo Gilbert. Many thanks to the event organizers and to all who attended!

1 Mayfair restores the scale and rhythm of its prestigious and historic neighborhood. It takes the form of a mansion house combined with a townhouse-like wing to bound two sides of the reconstituted Audley Square. 1 Mayfair steps back as it rises, giving each of the 29 residences private outdoor space. At the top of the building are two duplex penthouses and one triplex that enjoy significant rooftop terraces. Design led by Daniel Lobitz, Gaylin M. The Residence in Singapore is featured in The Living Room, a new book compiling rooms by the Design Leadership Network's Members and Partners, published by ASSOULINE. Setting the living room three steps below the first-floor gallery provides a bit of drama on arrival as well as extra ceiling height. Floor-to-ceiling panels behind the sofas create an intimate seating area. On beautiful evenings, when the veranda is lit up and guests are stepping out of the living room onto the pool terrace, this house becomes a perfect place for family parties and social events. A large atrium and central staircase are the hub of a range of interdisciplinary spaces for arts, media, sciences, engineering, and innovation at the Schoenecker Center for STEAM at the University of St. Thomas. To promote collaboration and interactivity, the Schoenecker Center puts learning on display. Extensive interior glazing promotes visibility, allowing students to watch other disciplines in action.
