    The Walt Disney Company recently released their latest Marvel Entertainment film, '#DeadpoolandWolverine,' that quickly became one of the summer's biggest blockbusters ☀️ 🎞  The movie has broken box office records being the largest R-rated global opening and has currently made over $824 million globally (and counting!) 🎟️ 🤑 In anticipation of the film, we independently tested their official trailer using our Affectiva #EmotionAI technology. From our previous box office validation work published in our eBook, we know a trailer with a strong positive #emotional connection is associated with an increase of almost $40M in Box Office Sales, hence it is paramount to drive positivity. And with its punchy combination of edgy humor and fight scenes and iconic Madonna tunes, the trailer proved to be an emotional ride, ranking among some of the most emotionally engaging trailers within other #entertainment content tested on our database. (eBook link here: https://lnkd.in/eakBmwBp) The trailer has successfully leveraged the peak-end rule in its creative element of placing a scene of the movie at the end, a common technique in the storytelling of a movie trailer. The image below shows people’s positive reaction to humorous debate between familiar characters about “building a snowman”, resulting in a positive, exciting ending boosting the urge to watch the movie 👀 However, the edgy humor and strong language wasn’t for everyone. Older audiences struggled a bit more with the profanity that was sprinkled in throughout the trailer, which may not necessarily help convincing even fans of that genre 😅 For more details stay tuned for our upcoming blog post with full analysis of performance!
